Does anyone know if there was any reason why Wario had 2 different poses in that video Aleste posted? I believe he was the only one to have anything like that.

I played brawl at ikkicon and I must say: Captain Olimar is an amazing character. Just because he can't grab the edge like that doesn't mean that he's useless. His final smash and pikmin abilities make up for it.

Mystic: Everybody has like 2/3 different poses, there is a Youtube vid of all of them somewhere but I can't seem to find the link right now.

I'm surprised they actually called the technique "Pivot Grab." I remember the term being used to describe something similar in Melee, without any official recognition.

They gave an official name to powershielding now, which is nice, phantom hits are now "Glancing Blows," short hops are now Small Jumps, and teching is Ukemi.

Of the new names, I expect only Ukemi will be ignored, and teching will remain the common term. Everything else should change to the official names.

One thing that I've seen that isn't there in the update is the "Glide Throw". You roll dodge in either direction, then immediately throw in the opposite direction of the dodge. The result is a forward throw while moving backwards. You can also cancel out of air dodges by throwing items, as well.

Yes, that seems more like a glitch than anything. The lack of a blurb on it only seems to reiterate this fact.

Doesn't appear to be much of a big deal though, since it isn't really all that cool or special. Will it see use? Yes. Will it have a large effect on how item-using characters are played competitively? No. It just improves the item game in general, by a noticeable, but not particularly large, amount.

It means he has 2 jumps like yoshi except worse. Yoshis jumps are part of why he is so bad in melee.

Couldn't you throw a Pikmin to knock them off the ledge?

You can, but the angle of the Pikmin throw is such that it could be difficult to impossible to recover afterwards, unless you can time the throw from a good distance away.

Ooh, looks fun. Haven't seen so much on this latest stage. Cool to see that conventional KOs don't work as well.

Maybe brawl will be worse than melee when it comes to glitches.
