What jumps by 10 points? Each round's score is determined by a max of 1000, and then 99% of the person ahead of you all the way down. Overall score is just the sum of each round's score plus bonuses. I round everything to integers so precision is lost, but overall, order is maintained and things look cleaner.
Hm the gifs should not be lagging your computer unless it's reloading them each time instead of caching them. There should only be a slight lag upon first load. I recommend using Firefox with the Fasterfox addition... it's made things uber-fast for me.
Do people like the animated banners or shall I stick to static images?
jonathan: I make the text/any relevant graphics pieced together from various sources in Photoshop, put things together in Flash, convert the swf to gif, shrink the gif filesize via an optimization program
