I'm starting to get pissed at TTFAF on expert myself. The intro is no problem, might fail once - three times but then I'm through. But I just can't get past 80-90%. It just, I don't know. It's not that hard, but it's just..I can't get past it. I got to 91%(Almost There!) And I failed. Haven't gotten as close since, usually 70-80...anyone got any tips on basicly anything past and including Herman's solo?

The farthest fail I had in that song was the red hammer-on/pull-off part right at the end. You'll get there.

So after playing RB, it made this game look too ridiculously hard, not that I didn't notice that before, but much more noticable then before. The GH3 controller was probably the only "great" thing that came with it.

                  Kay, Squeek.

You said that you shouldn't have to cheat to beat the game, and that you've beaten' every other game without much practice and you only practice to perfect.

Well you can beat the game on easy, medium, and hard, It hasn't taken' you long whatsoever to get to expert let alone the last tier in expert, so you shouldn't be complaining. Guitar hero wants you to beat the game on medium/hard as the norm. Expert is the extra difficulty that you need to perfect. You need to practice just to play expert, and you need to put in exetreme numbers of hours to 5*/100% expert. They didn't want a game where people can perfect it. And, as someone else said, there should always be something to strive for. There certainly is and if you get frustrated because you're not able to do it, don't post 5 billion times please, keep it to yourself and stop dissing the manufacturers untill you actually beat the song, and have the skill to appreciate the difficulty.

Get over it and practice, please, you will get it eventually, and you'll see that every note they put in represents an actual note in the songs, you just need to hit the notes to hear the sounds they represent. I think they did a pretty damn good job of making note charts maybe there is some un neccesary chords here and there, but who cares, it's not an actual guitar, it's different, and this is how they want you to play it, obviously not like a real guitar, so don't play it like a real guitar. Simple, adapt...

Oh, I always saw the extra notes/chords as a way to make up for the fact that the 'guitar' you use only has one string opposed to the five on a real guitar.

A guitar has 6 strings Mal. Not to meantion 24 frets rather than 5 represented on the game guitar. And yeah that's kinda always been my explanation for certain charts to be ridiculous stuff. So I never really complained about it...

Still can't freaking beat TTFAF. Got 90% again....>.<

What is even more bizarre is that I've played guitar before, and still can't remember the number of strings on there.

                          Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.

By the way, someone mentioned earlier that a real guitar is much harder than Guitar Hero, even after I said otherwise.

I talked to three guitarists while on my vacation in NYC who have all played for years. After a few hours of Guitar Hero on Medium, they still had difficulty just passing songs, let alone 5-starring them.

They all said the same thing. "This is nothing like playing a real guitar. A real guitar is much easier."

Not a single one of them managed to learn how to play the blue note well enough to beat Tom Morello on Medium because they could never hit the battle notes. Yet, those same people can regularly play songs similar to One and Cliffs of Dover on their guitars.

All in all, unless Guitar Hero 4 has ~75% songs I like and cuts back on the difficulty, I won't be getting it. Instead I might just invest in an actual guitar.

But you must think songs like Jordan and Through the Fire and Flames are harder to play on a real guitar?

I don't know about Jordan, but a resounding "YES" on Dragonforce.

The intro is a keytar, not a guitar. The entire song is a mish-mash of two guitarists playing at the same time. Each guitarist has about half of the song. When you blend them together, you're going to end up playing the entire thing yourself. That's what Guitar Hero does to arbitrarily boost difficulty.

I'm not saying I could play DragonForce on my first day. I'm saying it's not as hard as it is in the game.
