Squeek, you're a bit too quick to condemn the mention of the word "Melee" in this thread.

The original point was that Brawl wasn't as entertaining to chemicalrabbit as Melee, and I posted that someone disagreed. Then he asked if anyone played Smash competitively, which can easily relate to Brawl because of the inevitable competitive Brawl scene. Tech skill and mindgames will also relate to Brawl; they are in no way Melee-specific.

It's as if you don't want us talking about anything that was in Melee that will return in Brawl.

As for discussion on tournaments, I'm sorry if this sounds offensive, but making a near-threat just because you prefer other types of play than the type being discussed seems a bit...I don't know, wrong. "You all know what discussion of tournaments and such does to people like me." Seriously, that sounds like you're threatening something if we talk about a playstyle you don't like, and somehow, I don't think your powers as a moderator extend to threatening action due to conflicting philosophies.

I'm sure it's not intended, but that's what it feels like. And once again, I don't mean any offense by any of this.

I was earlier this year, but some **** happened. I play with a bunch of kids that play with Mike G,GA Wes,Chad, 112. Ever heard of Menthol Mike? I'm friends with him. Hes got a sick marth.

It was a threat. Nobody wants to hear Squeek whining. Nobody.

I can't threaten you with bans or anything as that would make me a hypocrite. I know where I can draw the line as someone with something to prove and someone who has moderation rights to the forum. I try to make it clear when I am distinguishing myself between these two faces, so sorry if you didn't catch on.

This is Moderator Squeek saying: If you're not going to post about Super Smash Brothers Brawl in this thread, do not post in this thread. If the four of you just want to talk to each other about who you play Super Smash Brothers Melee with, then take it to an AIM room, the FFR chat room, profile chat, whatever. Hell, make your own thread called "Talking about how awesome we all are in Super Smash Brothers Melee and the super-mega-awesome omg hax pro celebrities we know!" Just keep it the hell out of the Brawl thread.

I don't single out who I target with offtopic banter posting. I do it all the time. So don't think this is me holding a grudge. I just can't stand it when a chat-room conversation takes place on the forums. If your message can't even hold enough content to fill more than a sentence, it's generally not something you'd post on a forum in the first place.

Squeek, I can see where you're coming from. However, would I be correct in saying that discussion of the upcoming Brawl tournament scene would be permitted? That was the main point I was getting at: you may not like tournaments, but I believe that we are entitled to discuss them provided they can relate to Brawl somehow.
