My opinion on alts is as following -

If it's an alt of a troll with a name of Giga*****9001 or something, SDGing DP. Then wipe them. That's retarded and not needed.

With AJ's alt, All i can see out of the arguing is the fact he's trying really hard to start fresh with a new play style. He hasn't simply made the account and gone "LOL TIEM TO RUIN RANKS", I've seen the progress he's made. It's impressive, and i sure as hell don't have that patience.

Whatever the outcome, I'm impressed with that progress and hope it doesn't get wiped for a bad reason.

icontrolyourworld has several alternate accounts too that haven't been mentioned in this thread, not sure how that would work out in terms of the scores

LOL comparing this to zierg is COMPLETELY stupid... Hes playing a different STYLE so its not just making an alt and cluttering up the score boards. Its pretty much the exact same thing as if someone played spread and then made a index account to get scores index on it, even if they DID get really good and fill up the leaderboards they worked their ass off on that different style. This is completely stupid guys.... Just stop lmao

Guess I lied. First of all why call other arguments stupid, no need to do that. Secondly, take for example someone who can AAA files up to 45's, I make an account for index, spread and one-handed, you make one for 2 styles, and other people do so... You now see that person's ranks worse than what they should be. The whole point is that you're the same person playing on multiple accounts (I do have some too, for one-handed and another random one, but I still think all alt accounts shouldn't be accepted). The only acceptable argument AJ has made here is that he has alot of saved progress already.

Thanks, I'll work on the scorewipes/blacklists in a few.

As per Icy if it's many accounts clogging up the scoreboards it could possibly be considered for wiping. It's really a grey area, but I don't think anyone should be making a ton of alts and getting scores on them.

Yes, you are correct, you are the same person playing on different accounts. BUT the fact of the matter is, youre not playing the same style so you have to learn it all over again which should not be frowned upon.. Making a new account for it is what keeps you motivated. Its not against site rules to make an alt, so therefore this argument is invalid until it is against the rules.

I'm just going to post this quote from the FFR site wide rules announcement in regards to this little argument going on:

It is fine to have an additional account to play the game. It is not fine to create multiple accounts just to spam the scoreboards.

So unless you want to appeal for a site wide rule change, alt accounts are perfectly fine.

It's not like he has 5+ accounts with a bunch of AAA's, it's just 2 with different playing styles. The other other alts I've ever seen wiped are people who have been blacklisted. This should not be an issue.

You don't get my point I think; it might be motivating yes, but it Still slows others progress. Now stop it with the "It is not against the rules" argument, all I'm trying to do here is to have a good discussion on that topic and see why that rule is accepted so you won't get anywhere with that. Also, if anybody thinks i'm against AJ progress or whatever, I'm not, and I have no reason to think that either.

All you guys are saying is that it's not a big deal because he's only 1 out of so many players so it doesn't really matter. Yes, that is true, but what if many people start doing that too ?

Many people already do. It's not like this is something that's new. Then on top of that who knows how many other accounts/alts from the past could be "messing up ranks" Just play your best and people in the community are going to recognize your skill as a player.

If these are all on the high score boards then yeah they probably should be wiped out. That's a lot of alt accounts.

the whole "slowing progress" is completely irrelevant because as I stated before, I'm playing as if I was a different alias/user altogether. it's no different than a random user coming out from lurking and suddenly trashing the game when they're not active in the forums (see: evil smoke/star reaper, etc).

I'm not impeding anyone's progress, I'm advancing on my progress. I'm working hard to improve under a different style.

Hmm I guess so. Thanks for not raging against me, I just hope you get my argument that you're still the same person on both accounts and have alot more experience than a new player so the "changing style" is not totally valid. Now lets end this.
