Re: iPhone 5
Just a minor hardware update. I really don't need phone function so I'll probably get a new iPod touch.

Re: iPhone 5
what gimmicks are you referring to, and I'm curious how you think the aesthetics are misleading?

Re: iPhone 5
Siri is pretty much the ultimate gimmick due to how useless it is for actual use.
Also apple is the king of misleading aesthetics that make their products appear to be of a much higher class than other current technologies. They like to market their products as being "magical" while trying to hide all of the inner workings in a pretty little box. I'm kind of surprised they even release the tech specifications of their devices. |

Re: iPhone 5
Am I the only one that finds voice-activated features *somewhat* useless? When I use a phone, I don't want other people knowing wtf I am doing -- so I get used to never using the voice-activated features.

Re: iPhone 5
S3 all the way! I love mine so freaking much. All you Apple fanboys can go die. The end.
Since I have an S3 now I won't be getting the new Note. But... hopefully Samsung will have the next Note (Note 3 or whatever) out by the time I'm ready for an upgrade. I like the S3, but I could use a larger screen and the Note seems like the perfect fit. I agree in part. Most voice activated stuff is pretty useless, however... there are a few really cool/useful things it can do. My favorite by far is setting alarms. Checking the weather, adding a task to my calendar, WolframAlphaing math problems, Wikipediaing crap, ect. are nice, but usually not too practical.

The "magical" thing is just marketing. If you remember the commercial, they did their job. You make it sound like you think Apple is tricking it's customers into actually thinking it's magical. I dislike Apple and hated to see them succeed here in US court over Samsung, and I disliked Steve Jobs as a person, but I have to admit that the iPhone is a solid phone. Android fanboys are starting to sound worse than iSheep. God. |

Re: iPhone 5
It's pretty much only good if you're driving and absolutely have to look something up. Other than that, it's a gimmick used in place of originality (on both sides of the argument)

Everytime I shout PORNO at my phone it gives me pictures of popcorn
