Icy, something was pointed out to me by a regular SM user. SM uses the timing window as how far out from the receptors a note can be to get Marvelous timing. So in reality, your timing window in SM is double that value, because it can be hit front to receptors and receptors back that much. So J4 really is easier than Amazing like I thought.
