real talk... the decision is kinda tough at this point.
the current pax have been slower to respond than many past projects. this pack has had many more submission than hi19's, so if you're looking for the one with more activity, that's prob. your answer.
from what I've seen, the audience for single releases right now is abysmal. I see some big-name authors releasing files and getting 0 feedback. I'm not sure if the main cause is the time of year, or if maybe there's a disconnect between sim creators and SM players. (someone wanna make a thread for this topic?)
I really think everyone should tough it out and submit to packs. I'll admit, there's certainly no instant gratification; you're not likely to see your file go public within a month. still, you will probably get a bigger return on your labor in the long run.Comment

the projects we make here get less attention and activity because ffr's top players are a very small number of people these days.
if we really wanted feedback and people playing our files, as i've said time and time again, we need to make fully charted packs and move on to stepmania.com

I thought stepmania.com's community was primarily pad-based...
I definitely agree about the need for easier files though: I have two friends who just got into the game, and all they have to practice on is a handful of FFR Community Pack files and the DWI-series. oh yeah, and Patashu's Super Meat Boy Pack.Comment

it is mostly pad based, but again the point is to cater to all levels. the pad community is much larger than the keyboard one. that's not to say all keyboard players are at our level; it's just easier to cater to both pad and keyboard players at the same time when doing all levels. We would still be making the same expert charts we all play here, but broadening our audience.

I just skimmed the first page of threads in the simfile board on sm.com. there are some threads with a ton of views, but I don't see a whole lot in the way of discussion and feedback. it's an interesting prospect, nonetheless. I'm sure there have been some threads about making fully-charted packs and publicizing effectively on sm.com; I think bumping one and restarting the discussion would be a great idea.
anyway sorry I cluttered up this thread. hopefully seeing the title on the front page will remind everyone to get things in gear though! btw I plan on submitting at least one file.Comment
