I started on Tuesday and wrote for about an hour during one of my classes.

That was worth 1,000 words.

I guess I'll write when I'm bored at work with my laptop. Sounds ideal.

It is a sad sad day when I think Squeek has the best idea out of all the ones listed here.

I wish any of my story ideas would flesh out into something longer than a few pages. Eventually I think I'll just retool some old fairy tales the way I wanted to read them, and see if I can get that into the works.

The story has changed slightly since I began it, but the underlying theme is still the same. The enemies in the story are standard grammar mistakes: Comma Splice, Sentence Fragment, etc. I haven't decided who the big bad guy will be yet, but I'm kinda leaning toward chatspeak, since that's not actually a grammar mistake, but one of the biggest contenders in the fight to ruin the English language.

Did you see that article about New Zealand allowing kids to use "textspeak" in their formal exams? I was horrified. I think that should be one of your big battles.

Messing around with it now. Shouldn't be any customers at work tomorrow (unlike Thursday and Friday... got nothing done at all =/) so that gives me maybe four straight hours with it.

It's hard coming up with names. I am definitely not a creative writer. I'm a much better essayist.

Edit: Did another two thousand words today. Definitely easy once I got the basic structure in place.

I've picked out names for most of my characters and baddies. They're interesting. Once I finish, I'll want to find out if anyone gets the joke behind them.

I've also picked out what each character's specialty is based on my favorites in various RPGs. I'm trying VERY hard not to make the storyline close to any of the RPGs I'm borrowing ideas from. It's difficult.

Oh, and work was packed with people today. Who knew people liked to have things framed when it's the coldest day of the week, raining, and windy? Wow.

So...2 weeks in, I finally have a premise, with characters and everything. But there's no words yet. (There are 216 words in my little premise to myself, but even that doesn't have all the plot yet.)

I'm about at the same stage.

They did say you couldn't do any work on it until November, right? I mean, that, to me, says you can't even come up with a plot until November.

And that makes 50,000 words hard. I'm going to have to start getting creative on words here.

Edit: have at least the next 10-15,000 words written mentally (AKA I have the basic point of each coming event written down and ready to be elaborated upon). Let's just hope I can keep the flow going and get this done in two weeks.

Another edit: Got another 700-ish words during class. Going well. Hope I can keep it up. Only 45,000 to go.

well okay i just ried posting but its stupid. so yeah mines 800 words so fasr. sucks. about a transexual and a black who is white on the inside. they are both excommunicated prety much. so they shoot a girl cause she wont let htem put their dicks in her mouth. LOL. yah. k

Probably because the mod who did it had no reason to believe that you were being serious. Hell, I don't think you're serious about it.

Also, judging by the quality of your posts, your writing skills are probably substandard. Writing typically requires punctuation and good spelling, so if you can't do that, you have no reason to be writing a novel, especially one with a premise that's there just for the sake of having a ridiculous premise, not because it'll make an interesting story.
