i'm also weary about people talking about setup, but more so because there's a stigma behind it rather than the actual problems it presents... i'm also entirely in the dark about the setup, i've read it what feels like a million times and still don't understand, but i think that's.... partially the point? i don't think it's worth talking about d0, maybe even d1 just because of how perplexing it is.

tldr, i am genuinely curious about the semantics of the setup too but don't think we should spend any further time discussing it today. people pushing this: why?

The short version is that every time someone will flip, the host will give you the name of their character (that they don't know) and you will use their name to figure out what's the setup in the grid on the first post.

Once you know the setup, you will be able to know which PR is in the game and why. I think wolves partially know the setup because they know their own roles, but there might be a few options left for them to be 100%.

If by example an innocent child claimed here, they would instantly know 100% what's going on and would act accordingly.

This is going to be on their mind on the first few phases. So, you basically want to already be aware of potential attempts at people trying to get setup info indirectly by asking questions like "I think someone should claim innocent child etc."

Why would wolves know that? I'll reread the OP, but I don't think they have that info...

Bugkid, if you want to help me with understanding your motives. I think I decided the uncanny valley for me with your messages is that you interpreted yourself as being behind, when hardly anything had happened. Which should be a scarier prospect if you are town, that it is an 50-post omega crapshoot and you have to vote soon. It is not so much the thoughts list as the "tldr, i want y'all to know i am reading posts but obviously there's not a TON to go off of atm" statement. There is also a timidness to asking "is it weird that hatred has 3 votes on him..." ?

i don't know what you're asking me to do here. i can potentially see how that initial post could be construed but i honestly don't know why my hatred comment bothered you, i tend to phrase a lot of my posts in an uncertain way

No, I just went and read all the role PMs. Looks like they do have more infos.

wolves and PRs know their characters (however the PRs don't know each others of course), that doesn't tell them the setup, but they at least have clues. Of course they also don't know which PRs are active or not, but you were right anyway

If Haku's I guess standing out to you as somebody being overlooked, what is your mindset for not voting for them or pressing them more directly (unless I missed it)?

Is there anything that I quoted that comes off to you as more likely disingenuous in the posts above? More because of the reads that I have developed outside of this, the most likely agenda surrounding Haku for me (if there is one) is T-Force using Hateandhatred's Haku read to press him.

hatred stating "haku town af" could be a meme comment. but it struck me as weird because we don't know shit about anyone really so why would you say someone is so assuredly an alignment? if anything i think reviewing this makes me more interested in hatred than haku, but i was never THAT sus of haku in the first place. all i said was that we shouldn't assume alignment this early. force already prodded hatred for his take, which is good, but i think i missed it reading the first time, so my bad. i don't think i would have made the comment about haku at all if i had more carefully read force's query to hatred. (because it shows that someone else noticed that hatred's Haku Is Town comment was worth bringing up)

but i did post a cautionary and i still believe in it: we really shouldn't assume that anyone putting a lot of effort into solving anyone at this phase as automatically town. that was all i was trying to say, sorry it got dragged out longer than it should've. fwiw i'm pretty neutral on haku right now. i've fallen into the trap of thinking that someone trying really hard is automatically town, and i'm more critical of that mindset now.

I don't think everyone will see what I see this early in the game, but I'm fairly convinced you're town. Nothing seems to make me think otherwise. I also want to mention this because I think you're likely to be an early game target because people might expect more from you than you can truly deliver and it might become an obstacle for you later on this phase. fmpov, you just feel lost, trying to get a feel for the game and your narrative is simple, but relatable. I'm gonna ignore the read list tho.

1. It makes sense because if you want to apply pressure or provoke a reaction, even as a joke, it makes no sense to vote someone who has no votes already. You go after the person who is getting heat.

2. The reaction to the votes pretty much boils down to "im not going to entertain or engage these people voting for me." The parallel being an authority figure with a policy of not negotiating with terrorists AKA people voting for you. It was hyperbole.


3. Its info id rather keep to myself at the moment, half of which is stuff that i imagine is only relevant to me and the other half something i dont really want to draw attention to till much later in the game assuming you live till then.
