I kinda agree with xelnya, the process of submitting charts and working in the editor is extremely off-putting, everytime I get even the slightest bit motivated to submit something to osu I look at the awful arbitrary requirements and nope out. Other than that I couldn't care less about what rhythm game people like to play. I feel other rhythm games getting more popular is good for FFR since there will usually be some spillover from the more popular rhythm games to here.

download an skin, the default skin is ass lol.
if you are really new start with the really easy maps and try to get good accuracy.
aim comes with time and practice, the trick here is to have fun and enjoy your time playing

you're probably not a noob anymore, but what I did when I was new was join multi lobbies and just play whatever I could (and sometimes couldn't) this was also how I got a good amount of my friends on osu (this was also early 2016 before massive osu discord servers popped up, but either way still a decent way to get tons of maps)
