>so you guys finally made up your minds huh? sheesh that took forever!!
The group had finally decided that Manti would be lynched today.
Jade had been taking a nap in the corner, curled up on a star-patterned blanket like a dog. As soon as the chatter had died down and the tension had risen due to a consensus being reached, Jade's ears began to twitch and she instantly woke up.
She yawned, adjusted her glasses, then slowly walked over from her place against the opposite wall while stretching her arms. Freezin felt another stab of anger. How could anyone be so casual before killing someone?
"You're all going to regret this." Manti said quietly. "I can't believe you would do this to me." Freezin had expected anger from Manti, but there was only a deflated sense of disappointment from them towards the group of friends who had chosen him to die.
A wicked voice spoke unbidden in Freezin's mind. "Look at that hypocrite talk like hes better than us. As if he wouldn't have tried to kill any of them instead if given a chance. Hell, he was arguing for it all day just like everyone else!"
Freezin's eyes went wide in shock. The raw emotion, the terrible cynicism that voice held was like a hot iron against his skull. He had never entertained thoughts like that before, and he was afraid that there would be more of them to come. Was he finally pushed past his breaking point? Was this the beginning of the long spiral into insanity? He was terrified of the answer.
>alright enough talking. time to execute your sentence!
Jade puts a finger up to and points it towards Manti like a gun.
It would have been almost comical, had it been anyone else performing the action. But this was no game.
>so long. the people have spoken!!!
Manti dropped dead with a hole in his head the size of a marble. Blood slowly dripped down between his eyes.
>at least he didnt ruin the floor. as for who he was...
>yawnnnn....i think im going to turn in early. listening to you guys talk all day ruined my naps!!!
After teleporting the body of Manti away through a portal and blowing the imaginary smoke off of her finger gun, Jade turns and walks away.
However, she suddenly stops and looks back at the group and adds with a grin.
>everyone but Freezin, you have until it turns dark outside to be in your dorms. you dont want to know what happens if i catch any naughty people in the common room after dark...

A collective chill went through the bodies of everyone present. Jade resumed her slow walk towards the far wall, and some people chose that time to retire to their rooms.
Freezin soon found himself with company.
"Damn that dog. Would that I could rip her throat open and leave her to the birds." InDheart had overcome his nervous breakdown the previous day and harbored a special hatred for Jade. He would not soon forget the embarrassment she had caused him.
"Easy there big boy. You just worry about staying alive." Charu quipped in. "That's one sleeping dog that you be better off letting lie." He nodded towards the curled up shadow of Jade in the corner.
Roundbox spoke from behind Freezin. "All this work and effort spent killing each other seems kind of wasteful. Why can't we just get along, man."
"I say we listen to Roundbox. Next time we're arguing about who dies during the day, let's have Roundbox tell everyone to get along. I'm sure that will work." The sarcasm dripped heavy from the voice of Blind.
Tensions were running high. Some people were getting near the breaking point. Freezin could sense it in the uneasy atmosphere that hung like a dark cloud among the people he once thought he knew well.
Desperation and futility was warping them. There was no way out of the bleak situation they found themselves in. No way except to play the game. And win.
And where did that leave him, mused Freezin. He was unaligned with any side. His role was simply to watch. What would be in store for him in the future?
"Watch them kill each other and be friendly with the winner. All you have to do is kick up your feet and watch the slaughter."
The voice in his head crackled with malevolence. The voice's interjections were becoming more frequent as time passed. And Freezin had no idea how to stop it.
"Freezin you ok? You don't look so good brah." Roundbox's voice shook him from his brooding.
"I'm fine. I just need sleep. We all do. We have to be alert for any opportunity we see to put an end to this farce." Freezin hoped he sounded more confident than he felt.
"Agreed. Worrying about things we cant control is a waste of energy." Blind sounded almost bored. He started walking away towards the dorms, waving back at the group with one hand as he left.
Charu sighed. "Wish I could be that carefree. This situation is for the birds. See ya Freezin, don't go looney on me." Rolling his eyes at him, Charu left towards the dorms as well.
"I'd keep you company out here Freezin but I'm not trying to become that dogs chew toy." Roundbox gave Freezin a hardy pat on the back and a mock salute, then took his leave as well.
All that remained was InDheart. He was looking up at the skylight as the sunlight slowly disappeared. When he look back at Freezin, his look was unreadable.
"I'm going to survive this. And I'm going to get my revenge."
With these simple words, InDheart departed as well, leaving Freezin as the only person in the room (besides Jade).
He turned and shuffled back to the space against the wall that passed as his living area. He settled on the ground in his blanket, and let exhaustion take hold of him. He had given up trying to wake himself from this nightmare.
=-=-=-=-=
A finger poked his shoulder.
>hellooooo???? anyone in there?????
A moment of wild panic coursed through him, and only residual sleep paralysis prevented Freezin from sitting bolt upright in shock.
Jade took a step back and put her hands on her hips.
>finally! i cant start the day until everyones awake. you can catch breakfast after i start, come over here!!
She beckons to him and walks back towards the group. Freezin follows groggily, his mind still not fully awake.
The events of the last few days come back and hit him in a flash. He stops in midstride, then wildly looks around. But Jade is already speaking by this point.
>before we start today, lets find out what everyone has been up to last night!!
Jade closes her eyes and stretches her fingers in a rectangular shape. A small window appears from nowhere and slowly gets bigger until its covering a large space in front of her. Everyone is watching it in dread.
But nothing happens. Jade cocks her head and starts tapping her red shoe against the ground.
>hmm.......thats odd.....
With a puzzled look on her face, Jade turns back to the group and announces that....
