if I was the alien I would wolf-side and then do the forum equivalent of taking a mallet to a pan at 6 am for the entire game since town would just be stuck with me doing that the whole game

its probably not /optimal/ and I'm not really sure about incentive here

I don't like the idea of alien claiming unless they are about to be lynched. I don't see the benefit to human team, as long as they claim within 30-60 minutes til EOD and we have time to decide a new lynch. but letting the wolves know who not to kill would be a big benefit for them. Seriously am I missing something or what is the benefit there???

The only benefit to an alien claim is for the wolves.
