Re: TWG CLXVIII: Capitalism [Game Thread]
can people comment on how they feel about this post?I looked at the wagons last night -- in particular, votes that were on neither Toyota or UPS. In particular, I looked at the Facebook wagon ----
Amazon, Walmart, and China Mobile.
Amazon I suspect is town because of the Amazon-UPS connection others have brought up. Walmart flipped acq., which for all intents and purposes is town on D0. I decided to look into China Mobile.
They have only 10 posts, but those posts are rather dense.
For reference, here is the timeline:
Then:
And then re: Apple:
UPS now has three votes.
This reads to me as somebody who initially wanted to prod a wolf partner into engaging with the thread, and then as EOD approached and UPS was becoming a serious wagon, switched to another wagon to save their partner.
The question is "why not move to Toyota?" but I'll see what your thoughts are
Its the best case anyone has made in the game thus far imo.Comment

Re: TWG CLXVIII: Capitalism [Game Thread]
Not sure about best case in the game, but it does seem to have merit. I'm just not sure about China Mobile moving from UPS to Facebook to 'get off of a partner' because well even though i've gotten disagreement from other players I still don't think Facebook is very townyComment

This has actually been answered already, albeit indirectly:
(Go to the post to see the quotes I'm responding to.)
For the sake of clarity on phantoms: it'd be neat if you'd have that picture overlap the company's avi with some transparency if you get my drift
You sound like you don't trust 'em, but you prob don't wanna go down that rabbit hole atm. Wells has been playing similar to the first 19 or so pages so they're not AQ'd imho, and they're still sittin' as a ssuper high town.Comment

Re: TWG CLXVIII: Capitalism [Game Thread]
Facebook could absolutely be a wolf, even if they are, I don't really think it looks that good for China Mobile considering both votes were made to "apply pressure" rather than to try and kill a wolf, I think its pretty reasonable to assume that if it would have done something without generating any backlash, China Mobile would've moved their vote off of Facebook and onto someone better for the wolves, like Toyota. Not sure about best case in the game, but it does seem to have merit. Re: TWG CLXVIII: Capitalism [Game Thread]
Something that I wish I had recorded was the activity at EoD yesterday, because I don't think China Mobile was there at the relevant time (last ~20 mins of phase)
I'm stuck on the question of "why didn't China Mobile preserve UPS by voting Toyota?"
Recall that Facebook had 2 votes, Toyota had 3 votes, and UPS had 3 votes (2 when China Mobile switched)
It would have been safer to join the Toyota wagon than the Facebook wagon, to increase the differential between the top wagon and UPS
That's the one thing that's bugging meComment

Their vote was to placate Apple, or at least that's the answer I have.Something that I wish I had recorded was the activity at EoD yesterday, because I don't think China Mobile was there at the relevant time (last ~20 mins of phase)

I'm pretty sure China Mobile wasn't there either.Comment

I have no idea who they are, but there's something that like, I probably should know who they are.
Does it look good for them thus far; comparing their meta here to their expected meta?Comment

Re: TWG CLXVIII: Capitalism [Game Thread]
All I remember about China was they yelled at me for not seeing Facebook as a scummy person.
Too bad I still think Facebook is just an airhead. Unpopular opinion, I know, but I don't think Facebook is wolfin'. I mean, being scared to do anything is one thing, but letting others see you haven't contributed anything and bringing yourself attention with posts like:
"If you're wolf reading me, then you suck at this game."
Makes me really scratch my head if that's what a scared wolf would do.
...Though now that I think about it, I think they didn't post this phase, lmao.
