Just got caught up to the thread. That was quite a bit to catch up on. but I'll comment on this for now.

Quick response, to not wanting to talk about it ("but that's kind of a dumb thing to be concerned about if you ask me") then to shit post ("we should play a game where we all pretend to be afrobean"). Then when gradiant pressures further into it, she basically responds with "i misread it" again. A lot of her interaction just seems weird but that could be due to sick meds which is understandable

I really did misread it. Don't know what else I can say about that one. it was stupid. I thought the best course of action after messing up like that would be just to be honest.

Says that the day 0 interactions seemed pointless, gets traction from charu, then she switches to "nonono misread lolol" and says something that doesn't follow her logic imo. She seems to want to dismiss them but then says that she's not. Her phrasing was off and that leads to a lot of awkwardness (as to what's pointless, what she actually thinks about the interactions).

That was poor wording on my part. I never meant to imply that I thought the interactions themselves were pointless.

When I made that statement I was basically trying to say that I found the interactions hard to follow. because of their content and the circular nature of many of the arguments. I didn't switch my position or try to say that I misread anything. However I definitely could have phrased that post in a better way because in hindsight I see how it can be interpreted that way.

I never wanted to dismiss those interactions. I was trying to make connections within those interactions and that is what was giving me a hard time to begin with.

Then she has an argument with precarious over theory stuff (gut reads and whether they're good or not). But I feel as though she's happy to start conflict in this way because it looks like she's being assertive when really she's not being attacked in any way. She doesn't have to mask her role, just has to talk about what she believes is the best way to play the game. (This interaction can be seen pages 31 and 33).

I understand your point against me here. Precarious's posts bugged me and that is why I responded in that way, lol. That's pretty much all there was to it.

Turns out he is just using a different definition of "confirmed" than I do. Really, we agree with each other.

I wasn't here for EOD because it was Saturday night and I was out with my friends. We were supposed to go to Round One, a super cool arcade with a lot of rhythm games. We didn't know we needed ID to get in so even though we are all above 21, and not even planning to drink, we didn't all have our ID so we didn't get to go (protip for anyone who tries to go to Round One after 10 pm). We did still end up partying though when we just came back home.

It's pretty clear about how I feel about phases ending on Friday and Saturday nights, especially Saturdays. but oh well what can ya do

So out of all the people that voted shadow, do you think any of them had wolf-y intentions?

This partially depends on whether Shado is town or wolf, and given the vig claim (unless something has happened that I haven't read to yet), it's not a good idea to lynch him today anyway.

The biggest issue regarding Shado votes would basically be opportunism. It's not clear how much that played in, given that everything happened basically instantaneously, but a ton of people were reading Shado to various degrees of wolf, so it was a superficially safe place to park a vote--at least, no one would really question the decision, given all the suspicion.

It's hard to believe that the wolves would thrown Shado under the bus at that point; there were enough opportunities to lynch a non-wolf without issue that I don't think they'd have arrived at that point (particularly given no communication + the ultra last minute nature of the votes). If there were any votes on a Shado that's a wolf, they were probably of the "look I voted Shado who turned out to be a wolf, it's not my fault no one else did" variety.

If Shado's town, then the general safeness still applies (people wouldn't pick up too much heat for the mislynch). Again, it comes down to a safe place to park a vote, and if Freezin was more likely to be lynched (which certainly seemed to be the case until last minute insanity), then there was even less reason to call out the vote.

Of the three Shado voters, Freezin is dead and cleared by flip. Backpack voted Shado without warning (reversing from a Freezin vote and changing the calculation by two). Botchi voted Shado after a brief post.

Although I voted Botchi, I find DBP's vote more suspicious, given that it fundamentally changed the situation, and was done without warning or explanation, from a player who had been largely absent. However, DBP did note that he was debating between Freezin and Shado earlier in the thread.

I still have some misgivings about both, but neither vote is inherently terrible on its face (that's one of the problems with the last minute thing, though--it prevents any reaction to those votes, which might have revealed more). I wouldn't be surprised if there's a wolf between the two of them, but not because of the votes.

Out of curiosity, what would you have thought of a hypocop report strat being implemented in a game like this? Obviously irrelevant now that the cop is dead and there won't be any reports to hide in a hypo train, but still, I'm curious.

You mean like in the turbo? Honestly, it probably would have worked well. I'm of the opinion that it's pretty effective in most cases (although to be honest the turbo was the first time I had ever seen it actually used in full action, so yeah). It would have been more complicated here because of a wolf framer/lawyer, and no initial read, which might have made it more balanced as a tactic.

Upon skimming ISOs I didn't find stuff that particularly stood out to me. I'll just do a reads list for now

1. Hakuright (Hakulyte) - At the very start of the game I disliked him because his tone felt different from last turbo where he was town. As the game has gone on his posting is considerably better, but I'm still watching out in case his tone change is something other than "Haku doing a Haku". His interaction with XelNya also feels weird, mostly because it looks one-sided for the most part. That being said, he's been actively trying to interact with everyone, which is a good thing, though his effort has been kind of spread out. Null, but likely to change.

2. _Zenith_ - Null, because we haven't really seen too much in the way of reads and pushes from him so far.

3. SurelyWolfe (Shadowolfe) - Huh. He's definitely off the table today based on his claim alone, but even without it, I didn't get that much of a wolfy vibe from him as everyone else seemed to get. I did get the SAVAGE vibes though.

4. danceflashgun (danceflashrevo) - Strong town lean. I don't know if that's just DFR's general posting style, since it felt similar last game too, but his posts are giving me a nice genuine town vibe. Looking forward to seeing what will happen with his push on mellon.

5. Charuzard (Charu) - Bird lean.

6. DaKnapsack (DaBackpack) - Null/Wolf, but that's likely to change if/when Precarious stops ignoring me. I want to see more from him today, I felt like he was doing more stuff earlier in the game rather than later.

7. PriCARius (Precarious) - Null/Town, but that's likely to change if/when he stops ignoring me. His style of posting a lot of mechanical stuff makes him difficult to read for me. I do think his non-mechanical posts have been valuable but DUDE PLEASE NOTICE ME

8. boundrocks (roundbox) - Town Lean, he provided solid content during EoD. Nothing much to say other than that.

9. ho246 (botchi246) - Null/Town, he hasn't posted very regularly (which fair enough, I haven't either), but he has posted generally good town helping content when he does. Hoping to see more stuff from him today.

10. Sell?Nah (XelNya) - Town Lean. He shitposts a lot which I assume is just his style, but it makes him difficult to read. That being said, he has good content and pushes scattered throughout. I like him.

11. melanxcholy (mellonxcollie) - Null. Nothing really stood out in either direction, hoping to see some more from her.

Okay, I'll read some stuff now, but I'll be around if you guys want to address something directly at me in the meantime

I thought I answered this previously, but I needed to step back and reevaluate my own play, and I felt that I was tunneling on DBP because of the hypocrisy surrounding their vote. Hypocrisy bothers me in mafia/TWG because it's about half a step removed from dishonesty, which typically strongly correlates with wolfiness. But there really wasn't that much there, and when people led me to go back to that brief DBP-Charu interaction, I more or less concluded that I was overreading. After that, DBP was missing in action for a while, and there wasn't a lot to go on. I'm actually tending back toward wolf-reading DBP again now, just because they've been so hesitant to say/do anything game related unless absolutely forced to.
