Another possibility that hasn't come up yet, but one I find myself considering: Both of them are lying. That is, BOTH Sans and Alphys are reds, and this is an elaborate ruse to bank karma on Alphys, who will be "medic saved" until the very end of the game.

Should she live to like final 5 or 3 long, she should be lynched for this sake
