        Ive also seen a huge problem when you get around 400k, people die way too fast and the crematoriums can't keep up, so you're city will start to fall in population drastically because of dead people everywhere… lol

            Too addicting.

            This is about 3 tiles of land filled with city so far. Extrapolating, I'm on track to hit the 1 million cap but yeah, I've heard dead bodies become a real problem at higher populations. Preemptively preparing with consistent cemetery and crematorium distribution with easy access to highways.

            No problems right now at all other than failing commercial zones. Not sure what is up with that but office demand is constantly high and I never have demand for commercial.

            Bus system was all fucked up so I just scrapped it and went with subway. Like it more anyway.

                Yeah, I think that's the problem. My commercial zones are being abandoned even if I build them when commercial need is high.

                The reason for abandonment is always a lack of supplies, which lead me to believe I just need more factories. However, when I try to build new factories they also get abandoned due to lack of workers.

                So my only explanation is that, right now, high education = residential and office only. Strange, really. I think they should fix it.

                  Could you have low level buildings in one area that consists of heavy industry and has limited availability to education. That way your commercial zones can get supplies from there and the limited education ensures your workers will still populate the factories. I've not played, but maybe that could work.

                    Not sure, maybe but right now I don't have any isolated residential areas to test it. Might test it soon.

                    PSA though; be EXTREMELY CAREFUL with your water supply later in the game. I was coming up on 150k pop when I almost shit myself as I watched my entire city RIP, population dropped to like 50k and I lost millions. The entire city collapsed, tens of thousands sick with tens of thousands of bodies.

                    I couldn't figure out for the life of me what on earth happened, but apparently when I was fooling around and placed a dam for fun and then removed it, I shifted the water currents. Some of the water flowed backwards and got into one of my intakes and that killed pretty much the entire city. Thankfully I saved early enough into the apocalypse to prevent the genocide after I figured out what happened.

                            edit: shit I couldn't play this anyone because it doesn't support intel integrated gpu

                                I'm not sure if an only residential/office city actually has technical downsides, though it doesn't look nearly as aesthetic as if you have commercial and factory zones.

                                I figured out how to get factories going even with max education; simply leave them up and let them become abandoned. Bulldoze it and then when it rebuilds, people usually work in them. My commercial zones became extremely dense after the fix and implementing a large factory area.

                                Though right now I'm plateaued at around 165k and can't figure out why the city won't grow. I've tried just about everything, but it's stuck, despite not really having any problems at all.
