I said before that I did not believe Peach's claim. I have changed my mind. I think it is likely that she really is the Gunsmith, and just didn't put enough thought into her claim, i.e. waiting until she actually gave somebody a gun so she could 100% verify her humanity.

Bowser claiming Cop is as much to save his own hide as to pull away the attention of the Medic. The reason he's acting like it's such a real possibility that he might get killed is to scare the Medic into leaving Peach open for the night kill. If Peach actually does get her ability off and gives someone a gun, then tells the thread who she gave it to before they come out, we have confirmed Peach's humanity 100%.

Medic, I think that you should protect Peach and not Bowser. Please critically analyze Bowser's posts. That is not cop behaviour, that is a sweating red.

wolves would obviously know this, and will kill and roleblock both of us, hopefully nailing the one that the medic isn't targeting with a roleblock, and the other with a kill

Yes, I originally disbelieved Peach's claim for essentially this.

It was a bad claim. The Gunsmith role does not gain any additional functionality for coming out to the thread, and we can't even take the claim seriously without her having used her role. If she had used it, and the person who she said she gave a gun to used their gun, we could at the very least use the claim as evidence that she's human, but her claim accomplished nothing besides putting herself in danger.

No, not at all, and I don't know why you put that in quotes because it doesn't even come close to resembling anything I've actually said.

I don't believe Bowser's claim because:

- When he had five votes on him and was leading the lynch, his response was NOT to "'save himself from the pressure'". His response was coolness and a certainty that he was not in any real danger. This is not how an important blue who is about to die would act!

- Immediately after his sureness that he wasn't going to die, he "voted" Villager. There's quotes on that because he actually didn't - no vote tags were used, so his vote was still on me. This looks transparently like he wanted to keep attention off of his revenge vote, and to keep more than one bandwagon option open to his wolf friends when they came to his defense.

- Right after this sheer confidence in his own life, a huge flurry of votes with no rationale or explanation landed on me out of nowhere.

- After the wolves were done flexing their muscle, but it was still clear that Bowser was not safe, only THEN did he make his claim. And since he has made his claim, he has repeatedly misspoke and not demonstrated any thinking that an actual Cop in this scenario would have.

THAT is why I am confident Bowser's claim is bunk.

How does one claim a role and convince you that they are real.

It's not hard!

1) Your claim should have a point. If all you're doing is painting a target on your back, why the balls are you doing it?
2) Your claim should be demonstrable.

Examples:

- "I'm the Cop, and Solid Snake came back red last night." We kill the red and they cardflip. Hurray!
- "I'm the Gunsmith, and I gave Luigi a gun last night." Luigi uses the gun, and nobody can argue. Hurray!
- "It looks like I'm about to die in a lynch. I'm a Medic." While not ideal, this would still at least have a point, because a Medic would surely die to wolves after revealing, and at least we force reds to use a wolfing killing the Medic rather than wasting a lynch on it.

And do you really think both claims are fake and Peach and Bowser are on a team?

Even if he's fake and we're relatively sure he is, he's not getting lynched for a looooooooooooooong time (not until we can lose if we don't lynch him.) You should try and find his partners. Hint: starting with me b/c I unvoted you at EOD probably isn't a good place to start

The risk is too great. Wanna lynch the claimed most valuable role in the game only to find out that your reputation is gone? I'll admit that you have balls but until we're at the day before we can lose there's no point to lynching Bowser at all b/c either way we get more information the longer he is alive, regardless of alignment.

Unless I have good reason not to, then yes, I'm not lynching a claim without a CC/strong reason to believe that they are fake in a situation where we have nothing to lose and a significant gain.

I don't really think playing rationally is being a pussy, Mega Man.
Say we lynch Bowser tomorrow and he flips cop. All we know is that a lurker who doesn't like other lurkers (Pikachu) is a non mafia goon/roleblocker and w/e his check tonight is, should he even get one.
Say Bowser is real and we end up hitting the roleblocker, should there be one (almost certainly is one but yeah). Forces the wolves hand to either find the medic or yolokill Bowser, in which case we then know all of his checks to be real.
Until we're in a bad position the potential gain is too great to risk losing since no role in this game (save for maybe a super YOLO oracle) can blow the game open like a cop can.
