Ok a few announcements before I start.

PrawnSkunk has been moved to D5 for competitive purposes. I'm sure he'd win if I keep him in D4 the way he's skillboosting.

I'd like everyone to do me a huge favor when submitting scores. If you could all also punch in your raw score in addition to your screenshot, that'd be awesome. That way when I update, I can just simply copy/paste your score and updates can happen faster.

You must use dark mod for this tournament! If you submit a score that has no proof of using dark mod, your score will NOT count! Be sure you have dark on before you even start!

Only screenshots are accepted! Replays and/or screenshots of a replay result will not count! I will know just by looking!

All side events that aren't FFR related require your login stuff in the top right hand corner of the page. Have that somewhere with your screenshot of whatever the event it, or I won't count it.

Last but not least, have fun! Failure to do so may result in your FFR license being revoked. Then again, that's where making a new account always comes in.

OMG, this is frustrating. I pulled off a 7-0-0-0 on Velocity engine but Velocity doesn't show any proof of the Dark Mod. My scores are significantly worse on R3, which unfortunately is the only engine that shows proof of Dark Mod. What do I do now?

Ok. I really don't wanna make a big decision without you guy's approval. As I've just realized that proof of dark mod only works in R^3, I want to nullify this requirement. If you guys want this requirement to stay, let me know. If it can be nullified, then yeah.

Dark mod is still required this round. If everyone (or most of you) can let me know whether you approve nullifying dark mod rule by the end of today, I'll nullify it tomorrow upon approval.

Ok, let me vent my frustrations here.

I played this on Velocity Engine with the Dark Mod. Took me 4 attempts to SDG. But how could you tell I used the Dark Mod? Oh, that's right, you can't!



So I had to play this on R3 and this is the only clean score I get after FIFTY tries?



So my official score is 22-0-0-0 when I could SDG the same song on an engine that doesn't show proof of Dark mod. wow. So upset.

Legacy does show proof of Dark mod. I wish I thought of that before I slaved myself 100 minutes trying to figure out how R3 works.

I say we keep the Dark mod for the entire tournament, but we notify the FFR Moderators about the Velocity Engine not showing Dark Mod so that they can quickly add that into Velocity.

2nd run, very easy AAA for the round.

Except the Engine doesn't show that we used Dark. Velocity runs so much smoother for me (R^3 the arrows are practically jumping up the screen chunks at a time) and the first 8 notes are actually in sync on Velo.

Please help fix this immediately, otherwise us Velocity players are at a very large disadvantage. I feel like I'm hitting the notes even more accurately on R^3 but it's still giving me random goods that I know I hit perfectly.

Edit 2: And attempting to hit Print Screen at the end of the song isn't working since it either messes me up or doesn't catch it in time since it fades so fast.

I really don't wanna inconvenience players that don't use Legacy or R^3. R^3 takes literally FOREVER to get used to, and for me to make them get used to it within a round in my opinion is insane.

At the same time, I don't want it to be unfair for everyone else that I specified dark mod since the beginning, and that it's the theme of the tournament. However, I did say that all engines except R^2 were allowed (since I knew it didn't prove dark mod and it wasn't popular anyways).

I really don't wanna back out on anything that I put out. If a higher-up programmer were able to put up that dark mod was used in Velocity and R^2, It'd be awesome and I'd also allow R^2 because there's no other reason to not allow it. However, the big thing was I said Velocity was allowed, and I had all this time to double check whether results proved that the user used dark mod or not, and I failed to do that.

It's a hard decision because I really don't wanna upset anyone. That is why I turn to you guys on this because my decisions will be based on what makes everyone happy.

My suggestion would be to keep the dark rule but just trust the Velocity players to keep the spirit of the tourny and not cheat. Not that I can say how realistic of an expectation that is :P

I can't help with this, I don't have flash or even anything related to the older engines. It's unlikely the engine will be updated, but I guess that's up to Velo.

I thought you've hosted a similar tourny in the past though, what did you do then? EDIT: Ah, hadn't realised it was that long ago and you skipped that rule for the one I was in.

I remember this too, but back then, all we had was the Legacy engine, so it worked.

I did this requirement WAY back in like 2008 when legacy was the only engine, which showed proof of using dark mod. The tournament I hosted last year didn't require dark mod. I thought I would bring the requirement back just for tradition's sake.

I almost said a replay AND screenshot were to be required, but when I tested that out, whether you used dark or not, replay settings do not change this regardless if you used "replay" or "your" settings.

For this round only, all Velocity engine scores will count. I know this might seem unfair due to lack of proof, but until I come up with a clearcut decision on what will happen in future rounds, or something else happens somehow, I'll just do that for now.

Don't replays show dark right off the bat for all velo and r3 engines? why not add that as an addendum to a screenshot?
