it has nothing to do with aoe or cc. its a shitton of sustained damage with an unkillable mage, and two bruisers with undead passives plus lulu ult. trist would be a bit better than cait slightly but super range adc fits the comp best

New favorite build in ARAM: Karthus-style Soraka with maxed CDR
Catalyst 5 pots start -> RoA -> Tear -> Kage's -> CDR boots -> Archangel's -> Deathcap, Morellonomicon -> final item (Zhonya's usually, maybe I'd even get a DFG if my team had a ton of magic dmg, or a defensive item like GA if I was a PUSSY)

Your shit early game is even shitter, but dear god...

Endgame.

800 AP Soraka is literally the stupid
With full build your heal does about 700 every 12 seconds and your ult heals 1000 for the whole team. In long fights the 450 dmg Qs add up too (especially with 12 MR shred per hit) and your E is a 700 dmg nuke that shuts down casters really hard.
It's a really fun build and you're basically guaranteed to get endgame unless your team is really outclassed because ARAM Soraka
She stacks tear with Q surprisingly fast too, usually easily by 18 minutes if nobody is spamming waveclear

I think someone like 100 pages back posted a game they played against Phreak or some other pro team, but this is my first time playing against either riot or a professional team (all diamond no names don't count)
Got to play against Phreak's ranked team tonight. We started out 4-0, but they outfarmed all our lanes and outplayed us in the mid game. It was super fun, though.

anyway I dont want to hear shit about arams being "a joke" anymore. i played a normal game last night for the first time in months because i just wanted to use my new morgana skin. i had a S2 diamond, diamond 5 lee sin feed a plat V aatrox 5 kills 1v1 while i got a kill against Cass AND Nidalee laning 1v2 in the middle of the lane (aka no tower dive). meanwhile my bot lane lost to a solo ezreal that got helped by jungle lee every once in a while. who the fuck plays normals really arams are more serious. aram doesnt have a meta to "break".

im honestly playing dominion before i ever solo queue a normal again
