which isn't a bad thing (not to mention that there's a LOT more quality files in here than anybody, least of all I, expected)

maybe we'll cut a few files near the very end but for the most part I'd like to keep it big and inclusive

that's just me, though, and depending on how playtesting goes things could change

Sent a submission. Still WIP but mostly done, will finish by end of the week.

If anyone gives me permission, I'll volunteer to fill some easy charts for your files (if I have time/interest in your song). You can look over them and approve/disapprove as well.

But really though, it's not very hard nor time consuming to make easy charts, especially after you've put in the effort to make those main charts. Get'er done!

I'd make an easier chart for Canary Part III but I don't know how to do it without making it feel empty. Any advice on how to approach it would be appreciated.

advice on easy charts:

-focus on accents, not layering. figure out how you can simplify patterns/rhythms without taking away from the song
-try to stay away from hands as much as possible. jumps are fine, but in general it's not good to have a bunch of fast consecutive jumps--can get very very hard to read very fast.
-generally, anything over 8th notes should be used for very strong accents. beginner players can't read dense stuff very well.
-climax theory is doubly effective in easy files. the farther in you get, the more liberty you have to make the file a bit harder.

I usually just take away a layer. Seems to work.

The problem I am having is that taking away a layer doesn't remove that much, since the file isn't that heavily layered in the first place. Even if it was mostly single notes, it still wouldn't be what I would define as an "easy file", since it has 200 BPM 16ths.

idea: release ~6-8 files in advance as a teaser for the entire pack, post in Chit Chat thread to raise awareness about the pack (especially because we still need tons of easy charts, playtesters, and graphics)

good idea or bad idea?
