I can understand validated arguments about poor quality stepcharts being accepted and put in the game, sure. But holy fuck, if a song with an acceptable stepchart gets added to the game, yet you don't like the song but feel compelled to play the hell out of it for ~*~MaX StATs!~*~, just stop complaining and play with the volume off. Again, every single person on here has played through several songs that they didn't enjoy listening to, and I can guarantee that not everyone has complained. Just deal with it. Music is music.

I feel bad for anyone that's playing this game solely to maximize their stats. It makes the game feel like work instead of, you know, a game. Anyone sharing that mindframe (setting priority on maximum stats first) would logically prefer that no more files are added to the game, as every new file added increases the potential for more un-AAA'd songs to be added to your levelranks. And if that were to happen, this game would die so incredibly fast lol.

Have more fun with the game guys, honestly. If you feel compelled to play a song you don't like for stats, turn the volume off. Sure Dossar, it defeats the purpose of a rhythm game, but as seeing 'ignore this song and play the others you enjoy' isn't a justifiable response given that you feel compelled to play the chart for stats, it's really the only option. People are making this a way bigger deal than it should be.
    thread should end here.

Edit: jelly is a nice tribute.

        @ Doss,

I guess my point is that D1-D3 players don't usually stay at that skill level very long, and if they do, it is because they don't play as much as they could (with exceptions of course). Therefore, they probably don't get sick of the songs and by the time they do, they are good enough to play harder ones.

Harder songs, on the other hand, keep the game interesting for the people who actually genuinely care about FFR (generally speaking, of course some worse players do as well, but most of FFR's biggest supporters are fairly skilled).

Not saying we should never add easier songs, but it seems to me that the vast majority of songs should be 60+.
because everyone that starts put playing this game starts with the ability to do 70+ difficulty files

I tend to agree with you Carlos, but let's not forget there are about 150 songs difficulty 10 and under (tried to count them but must've forgotten one or two)!

                Just a thought.

hey I did realize that your opinion behind that post was that newbies can't play 70+ files, hence why I posted how many files were already there for newcomers...

                    lol it doesn't matter anyway.

                      Agreed

we're not Osu here guys we're giving players a curve to learn off of, something a lot of the newer games such as TS, Osu, and even Solo still lack

And before someone bites my head off for the solo comment

there's hardly anything tieing from the beginner packs to the charts like scarhand you have to get crazy scores on to even be noticed

I can't speak for Solo, however Osu! and TS actually beats FFR in this respect.

                        Varying difficulties matter.

Ever wonder why people complain about why there are not enough 'difficulty x' songs coming out? The answer is simple, people want to play current files. Lately, all of the quality songs have been in the high difficulty range. Why is this a problem? Newer, or less skilled, players cannot enjoy these songs.

I cannot tell you how many times I've attempted to get people to join FFR via inviting them to FFR MP. There hasn't been a single time where; we were forced to be bored to tears, playing Baby Einstein grade songs, or my friends had to suffer through hard charts to play songs they liked, which put them off even more.

Yes, no one can tell step artists what to step.
Yes, it makes sense that you'd rather step a song that is difficult.

                        Yes, it's still a problem.

I disagree on Osu because learning Taiko is forcing me to use shitty maps not made for the mode on it's own. Hell I can't even be ranked on it and that's really just annoying.

In terms of TS, they're eventually gonna surpass FFR in this regard, but they're not that far yet to be honest. But I do applaud them for catering to all levels, I really respect that about their game.

The song database for Osu! makes FFR's song selection look small. I have a hard time believing that your song selection only contains shitty maps. Personally, I took the time to learn how to play Taiko. The music selection was amazing in regard to beginner songs.

I understand my claim is subjective. However, unless we are talking about songs that come from Baby Einstein or Newgrounds, I'd put money on Taiko having a better selection for beginners than FFR.

Yeah, there are good reasons for it, one of the bigger being that Osu! doesn't care about copyrighted material.

But, I don't like hearing that excuse.
FFR has approval for some amazing artists, and plenty of their songs have not been stepped yet.
