I heavily favour the Velocity engine, but that's just because it's what I'm used to.

Alson about engines i prefer R2 (R3 in this state sucks imo), but also I can achieve good results on the velocity engine too, sometimes even better than on R2 XD

R^2 makes me puke goods and also lags. The Velocity Engine is what optimizes gameplay for me, but at the moment the official one is lagging for me so I can't use it and I have to stick with legacy for now.

As soon as I got used to R^2 I much prefer it, more reading space + faster speedmods for the win.
