I feel like I missed out in the 6th official because I didn't pay attention to the other divisions. Maybe this time people are less interested due to the people they think should be in higher divisions?

I do know 6th Official had way more hype/posts than this thread.

Edit: Wow 6th Official had 9,102 posts. This thread is only half that.

I blame it on the birth of several takes on the "hype" meme. I remember Bmah's dancing Cubone and Leonid's tambourine-playing Seto Kaiba both got subjected to it, so that was some good clean fun at their expense.
