team comp doesnt really matter until like.... 1850+ (or the equivalent of normal elos (ppl need to super realize this because fanatically adhering to traditional team comps at low levels is just stUPid often the best way to power elo or win normals is to do something unexpected and unfamiliar (its called metgaming the metagame WHAT NOW))
i've won ranked games in 1650s as mid jax with ap alistar top jungle yi and mordekaiser cho'gath botlane (who constantly needed ganks from jax mid but it was 0K cause I was smashing lux's face in)
also on the subject of vayne even if you fail hardcore at the start there will be a point during the game in which you can just attack move and autowin team fights believe me I know from experience
if u wanna do that my suggestion is just play nothing but kog no matter what role you are in (but be warnd u should do this with people u know so you do not have instarage teammate formula)
jungle? kog
mid ap? kog
ad carry? kog
mid ap kog could actually trade with pre-nerf ryze (pre 2nd nerf ryze was unstoppable pre 1st nerf seriously) and come out on top. If you get really good with ap kog his damage is completely unexpected and he can play super aggressively in lane without being too exposed (as unexposed as a character with no blink or move speed increase can be anyway) or u can go farmville and 2 skill creep waves and then just afk at your tower until next wave just keep in mind that 90% of games are won in lanes as long as you have some passing knowledge of how to play mid game (seriously chances are the other team wont)
it's difficult to explain unless you innately understand it but in essence the more familiar you are with a character the closer you can skate the edges and maximize efficiency with minimal risk to yourself (and in a game all about breakpoints this is particularly important)
Christ even when I win it's unbearable. I solo'd top against talon and was 4/0 in early game. Midgame I continued to thrive and I only died once when all five of them were on me after a dragon. I was 8/1. Somewhere in there, I heard, "An enemy is legendary!" It was Talon. I don't know how my team fed him that badly. He was terrible. He would literally stand next to me and trade blows until he died. Actually I do know. Our mid was constantly over extending in fights (which is hard to do with xerath) and got killed. Our MF would just wander around in their jungle until she got found and killed. They would have the gall to blame me. It became a popular trend during the game to blame me for every death. Every time somebody died, it was my fault because there wasn't a rupture placed somewhere, even though I used my rupture to secure the guy a kill two seconds ago. I'm seeing why people play carries all the time. Because apparently it's never your fault when things go wrong. You can feed all you want but it's not your fault because, "the tank sucked," or "my support isn't supporting." God damn it I hate everything about this game why are 100% of people ****ing douchebags? They had the balls to yell at me lategame for taking jungle creeps when I was 100 away from an item. Seriously?! And then in chat he's still going! Gotta get that last word in! That makes you hella cool! I'm the only guy who could kill that damn talon and somehow I'm the worst player and he assumes I'm covered in losses.
I would if people I knew played this dumb game. I was introduced to it by an ex-girlfriend. I regret starting playing this game more than anything else that happened in the relationship. I mean I have plenty of people on my friends list but they aren't always on when I'm playing.
Honestly not even queueing with random people online is a good solution, it's just too distant. You need to play with like really close friends for the game to be enjoyable, and even then because of how the game is designed a defeat can still crush your spirit and piss you off to no end. Oh and if your friends happen to be derp it's even worse, because if you tell them anything or try to advise them they get pissy because of the setting, regardless of what kind of person they are.
