Shouldn't this be how a tournament is supposed to be done? It challenges you to do better than you think you would do!

First off, I've always questioned the ability to place people. I Like it was in d5 from the start, we're basically the same skill.. hence why I asked to be moved up. Zak is not d4, I've sat here and watched him play for hours, I know I could kick his ass at this game and I know you can too Kayla. Nice one though, also the whole darkbreeze situation.. doesn't matter he didn't tell anyone, maybe he feared being removed by the mods because of his opinions he may have said.. It's different, we have Zak's back, we're going to say something about it. He doesn't need to say anything, because I'll take the fall for anything I say even maybe in the slightest way piss off a mod and get banned and so forth.

Also darkbreeze will be moving up for the upcoming round. With that much of a skillboost this early on I'm sure he can manage.

Frankly I already knew I'd get a ton of hate over this tournament and it's whatever. I'm doing my best to make it as fair as possible and the fact is the way D3 was based for this tourney Zak doesn't fit into it. I shoulda D4ed him from the start with the 9 on RunnyMorning but gave the benefit of the doubt that maybe that was a fluke or something. His scores as of late prove to be higher than D3 in addition to that score. I can't leave him there. You want to hate me for it that's your decision.
I think the saddest part for me is that people would rather have it easy than have a challenge. I'm no where near most of the people in D4 and probably wont get past this round, I deal with people yelling at me for every little thing in the tourney from placements, to song choice, to difficulties of the files and so on. I have people message me all the time about people's divisions and I pretty much get nothing but hatemail. Yet not once have I sat here and cried that I wasn't in D3 where I could just have it easy most of the way through, I'll do my best where I'm at regardless of not being able to win.


But hey if you guys think you can manage the tourney better than by all means please make one. I'm trying my best and that's all I can do for you guys. I just wanted to bring back one of the beloved things to this community. And regardless of how much you guys may take jabs at me I'm glad I did it and I'm happy to see those who truly appreciate it.

Point em out cause Zak is one of the people I've been getting messages about since last round.

EDIT: If AD4M-V is one of them I'm already watching him cause he's one of those has a whole bunch of songs not even played on his acct.

I'll be honest, it seems silly to move people past round 1. The whole basis of the placements is 'We did the best job we could, and there are discrenpencies, but they're unavoidable because if you fix one you create another'.

Changing someone's division after round 1 just seems contradictory to that.

And it seems the only reason people are complaining is because there are prizes and it's easier to win a prize in a lower division than in a higher division. It should be an honor to be moved up to another division, but because it's synonymous with 'removing that person's chances of winning', it's treated like a death wish.

Solution: Remove all prizes (or everyone in one division)

But seriously, in a perfect world everyone would just be happy we're having another Tournament, I never thought this day would come <3

and another solution would be to give some incentive to be in a higher division, but that seems like too much work.

Okay then I'll leave all the sandbaggers to when they start showing up. And I'll ignore all the people messaging me so that I can be told more about how I don't listen to people. No matter what I CAN'T WIN. This battle is lose lose for me because one half of you will say one thing and the other one another. It's only 2 rounds into the thing the moves shouldn't be this huge of an ordeal. For all I know the people I end up moving could have been hiding skill from the start which is why we have that in the rules the way we do. In hopes to prevent sandbagging. I'm not saying that's the case with Zak but the fact is no matter what it's hard to prove if it's a sandbag or skillboost situation. But being that we're in the early stages where people still stand a chance if moved I'd rather make moves now.

I don't understand what you're trying to tell me by bolding my text. Yeah, he didn't tell anyone, and it doesn't matter.. Zak should be D3.. Move Clipso up also while you're at it. We all have fluke runs on songs, and BF, that's such an easy song, the Runny, also a fluke. The only two scores that even hint at d4.

After round 1 makes sense for sandbaggers, but not for people that started with similar skill is what I think everyone's trying to get at. It kind of makes it "improve, but don't improve too fast or you'll lose in the division up" which goes against being the best you can be for the tourney.

And where did I ever say I was always right? People are always making that assumption. I may make a decision at my discretion and maybe it's not always right but it is my discretion and what I think is best for the tournament AS A WHOLE. Not just for one particular person. All I do is explain MY reasoning as to why I do whatever I chose to do. People also tend to make an assumption that I'm mad all the time, which is also not the case I just tent to be direct and to the point with things. I guess I could try to sugarcoat it more and make it sound prettier but I mean it is the internet and it is text. Can't entirely portray emotion in it.

No one realizes that there's no truly practical way to place everybody properly in a tournament of this length.

You can't sit there and say not to move anyone because any person harboring an old account or time could sit there and fake it all.

Ideally, you'll want to make the least amount of moves possible as to not disrupt the equilibrium of the tournament.

There is no winning. There is, however, a chance minimizing damage in a particular division by moving people to their appropriate divisions. That one person can complain about their incorrect placement, but the rest of the division has a better shot because this one player who didn't belong in the division has been removed.

Everyone can sit here and argue everything all they want; you'll never solve anything. The users won't solve anything, tournament staff won't solve anything, and players within the division won't solve anything. Just move on and bring people up civilly with a decent case -privately- and that's it.

as far as Clipso, Kono Spoon/Amen Iraq aren't extremely high 11s and SDGs on songs in this area are expected of a well-rounded D5 player. There are a number of D5 players with FGO SDGs too.

Guys can we just be grateful that 1: after two years you're getting another tournament (i say "you're" cuz this is my first official) and 2: It could be worse. It's not like Zak and Darkbreeze were sandbagging. I don't know about darkbreeze but the way i see it, Kayla had a feeling Zak was meant to be in D4, but temporarily placed him to see how he would progress at the top of D3. Now he's moved up so....doesn't mean it's over. Should be more motivation to do the best you can (: They rightfully claimed their spots in D4 and we should be welcoming them instead of starting all this controversy.

Just a thought.
