I've been told that the stops made by ddream studio (with start/end region and create stop, they're both under the second dropdown menu) work fine, it's just stops it loads from a .sm that don't work properly. Can someone confirm/deny/research how ddream handles stops and how it can be used to make full gimmick charts?

Re: Miniguide for controlling DDReam Studio

I've been messing around with the wave filter, here are my tips for using it:
        1) Try the default, high-pass infinite impulse strength 10. This works great on any song with a strong beat.
        2) But if you need the wave filter it probably don't have a strong beat - try high-pass infinite impulse strength 5, then 3, then 2, then 1. The lower the number, the more of the lowest frequencies it accepts.

Low-pass never seems to be useful - anyone have a corollary?

An anecdote: PLANETCORE looks really weird under the high-pass filter. I can't tell what the wave is going to most of the time - is it the dubsteppish bass line, or...?

          Did you know:

Press scrollwheel/press middle mouse key: Creates and dismisses a scrolling widget. When active, scrolls the screen at a constant rate towards your cursor. Can be easier on the finger than scrolling normally.

I'm using ds200BETA6 and mid mouse button does something different. It adds a beat line to the current position I'm on (e.g. used if I were to sync live music/erratically played piano recordings)

The more I use DDReam the more I find myself referencing this guide. Really well written.

Re: Miniguide for controlling DDReam Studio

So, new to DDReam, and I started making a song on Easy difficulty, but as I started placing notes where they felt most natural, I noticed that I was stepping something for a harder difficulty such as, well, difficult. Any advice on how to easily transfer notes between difficulty? Thanks.

                    Question time~
The shortcuts responsible for volume and playspeed (CTRL+ALT+arrows) are associated with my screen orientation; which causes DDream to stop responding every time I try to use them. It's a huge inconvenience and really stops me from ever getting anything done.
Does anybody by chance know how to disable this? (win 8.1)

                    Edit: Nevermind, I got this.

Is there a way to reverse the scroll direction of DDream studio? Anyone know how to do this? I feel like my pitch sounding is backwards lol

Dang, thats a shame Nothing I can't get used to I suppose, it'll just take some time Fair enough though, I mean, reverse scroll is even buggy in the built in SM editor

does anyone have any pointers on how to properly set the preview music/ selection sample? i tried doing it in ddream by inputting the timestamp into the sample start/end in the file options but it didn't work the way i thought it would

I've just been using audacity/a media player to find the section I want (e.g start preview at 20 seconds) then I just figure out how many seconds the part I want is and set it to that.

Unsure of how to do it in ddream - I just edit the .sm file with notepad, at the very top there's "PreviewStart" and "PreviewLength" I believe, the main thing to note is its measured in seconds.
