Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Possibly, for the 2< multiplayer, we could have co-op files. You know how in DDR/ect. they have a "couples" option or somesht, where they have 2 different stepped files and two people play them both for a total score?
Well, I was thinking that we could have that for bw. And in multiplayer, you would have one team against another: 2 vs 2, total of 4 players playing. So now players would have to work together to achieve a rank on the co-op leader board. Possibly creating a new level of sociability for FFR.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Honestly, I do not care what you guys do. As long as it does not interfere with FFR traditional play then I'm down with anything reasonable added into the engine.===============================
The idea that RDCP 3 may come out in the future is a fun thought to have~

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
I selected:
ACC: Perf/Good/Avg/Miss/Boo
DIFF: Single Difficulty per Song (Absolute!)
ARR: 4 Arrows Only
To me, I see all these extras as the same as different game modes in a multiplayer shooter. Some are fun, but some are gimmicks that go relatively unplayed. The only people who participate in them are people so jaded and stonewalled by doing the same thing to such expertise that they need something new. To those people, I congratulate them on their success but ask for them to just stand aside for a while rather then forcing the more mediocre players to go through convoluted game modes.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
it's not celebrating the lack of features
it's celebrating what FFR is and was :P
besides, i think a more serious issue at hand for FFR is not trying to add 6key/mines/holds/SM-like features, but rather trying to revive the community
as you can see out of 1.7+ million members, i bet not even 5% are really active and that's not a good sign.Comment

Not even 0.1% of the members are really active. (0.1% of 1.7 million is 1,700)

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Might have to give more thought before posting my official vote, but he are my current thoughts.
ACC: As much as I would kinda like to have marv timing, I will have to side with sticking with the perf/good/av/miss/boo system just to keep FFR original.
DIFF: I wouldnt mind multiple difficulties on files just because I see FFR as the replica computer version of DDR and DDR has multiple difficulties per chart, I just worry about people rushing charts just to complete the other difficulties and ending up with crappy files like TS gets(inb4 butthurt TS players)
ARR: Going to have to side with 4 here, once again it would be neat to take like a DDR approach and go with 8 keys instead of 6 but it wouldnt be a smart move being 8 key setups are harder to get going and all.
MULT: Definalty 2+ players, iirc KBO took this approach and I like it a lot.
MINES/HOLDS: Mines no, holds maybe. I kinda would like to see FFR be different from all the other rhythm games out there and not have them but then again I can see the game having holds just because of it being a DDR replica. I just fear mass hold abuse in files in the future which would really not be fun to play.Comment

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
I agree, but we really do need a solid engine before we start hitting the community drum. I feel like its getting smaller around here, not bigger. My problem is building an engine that is hyper-focused to cater to high difficulty talented players rather then casual gamers and mediocre people who appreciate the simplicity.
We need a good core to build the community around first.
EDIT: There are a lot of votes for the traditional aspects of FFR, except for greater multiplayer. Why not do aesthetic changes to the singleplayer and really lock into more interactive multiplayer games instead of the other way around.Last edited by Patricoo; 07-31-2011, 09:13 PM.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
From what I'm getting, the aesthetic changes that the poll may offer would likely change FFR into a copycat of some other sort of rhythm game, which I disagree with. Single player is the most commonly played mode of the game, and although it would seem like improving it (gameplay or aesthetic-wise either way) would do good, people seem to react defensively against such changes.
I agree that the community needs to be redeveloped and new interest has to be brought forth. But wouldn't you think making these changes would help bring more interest and revive the community (particularly those newer to the game and unaware of how FFR was historically developed)? Personally, I think the lack of change is a positive aspect to people who are already well-aware of FFR.
For those of you stating that complexity would turn off new players, that's only if these changes were made to the entire game in a linear fashion. But as I said earlier, if you can make newer features an optional aspect, you might be able to have it both ways. And newer players may like the addition of these features. You can look at it either way: the addition of features will confuse new players, or the addition of features will add replay value that new players will try out.Last edited by bmah; 07-31-2011, 09:29 PM.Comment

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Just curious about the whole holds situation, if this were to come into effect, what would you do about the 900+ files already uploaded to the game without holds in them? I would think it would be way too much effort to go back and add holds to them, and if someone attempted them they would most likely just dump random holds in the charts just so they have holds.Comment

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
From the sound of things, this new engine might not even involve old files.
