As for the poker world, my girlfriend has been learning to play, I let her play micro rush on my account with me coaching her, and she was running hotter than god 1 tabling, so moved her up to 0.25/0.5 with 2 tables. Whenever she missed she made the huge bluff and never got caught once.

I was getting her to reload periodically because she was winning everything but eventually she told me no reloads. Got money in terribad in a couple of spots and I was ready to shed tears when she jams a pot I told her to fold, but rivers a 4 outer boat against two people with A and K flushes and like tripled up a 150bb stack.

Very next hand got it all in PF with KK against someone like 400bb deep with AA and hits the K on the river and takes the whole thing sitting on like 800 bb. I told her to fold when he 5 bet but she shipped lmao. Best mis-ship ever (I mean, his range there is AA and KK basically. I think he probably either folds or ships QQ instead of 5 betting and folds everything else, so since we have KK he has AA.)

I'm officially in the + by a good margin now after my massive downswing. Yay



Also, Daniel vs Isildur lmao. Isildur up like 120k and about to bust daniel when daniel hits miracle land and wins the match.

maybe not rigged def increase flop hitting potential compared to other sites. just doubled from 1500 with aj suit flop nuts all 3 hearts slowroll to river he ships shows k high flush. LOLLLL

EDIT: now that i have a fairly large roll i'm probably just gonna multitable a bunch of 2/4.

so the 1/2/5 (winner straddle) game i thought i was going to was actually 5/10... sat down with 200 hahaha. actually wasnt that bad, out of the 9 that started i had 200, my friend sat with 300, 3 others sat with 300, and the other 4 sat with 500. action was slightly ridiculous...

they were playing with a rule where you have to have two pairs or better to qualify for the high pot; i really like this. made people Strongly overplay their low draws, more potting on the flop with runner-runner draws than ive ever seen.

one hand there was a $25 straddle utg, 6 callers, straddle pots it for $185 or something and 5 people call that... flop comes TT5rainbow. the BB ships it for ~$500 and some dude in MP calls. BB has A236, MP has Q234... no one hits a pair and they chop the ****ing pot. god damn

played tighter than i ever have and i was really carddead but i still won $150. toughest 7hr session ever. went and played 1/3 right after, it was a big relief calling $20 bets rather than $100-$600 haha

I've, multiple times, flopped a boat vs quads on full tilt and stars. not to mention other bizarre stuff. pretty sure I've flopped straight flush over straight flush on stars before.

It happens. It's not rigged. I have done the same thing to others several times as well (minus the straight flush over straight flush).


I usually just laugh. Coolers are usually the least frustrating part of poker (assuming you're not already down a lot), since there's nothing you could have done differently. It's actually kind of amusing when you have like, two players trapping all the way just to show up all in on the river with a rigged hand.

ya freaking coolers... definitely not the most frustrating part of cards. omaha has really steeled my nerves against boat over boat/ boat into quads scenarios but it still sucks more in holdem.

was on the books for 700 last night things were not looking good. i had just got $200 more, won a few pots and had like $310 in front of me. we started playing blackjack, my friend that runs the game was the house. stopped playing 2 hours later with $725. what a night

Well, if we're talking cash games, if you play enough hands luck really isn't a factor anymore.

the number of hands you need to play to determine your win rate though is pretty high. At a very minimum, 50k hands.

1k hands is pretty much nothing. Variance pretty much determines whether or not you win or lose across that sample.


I mean, there's some math that is pretty interesting.

Assuming you have a pretty huge edge on average over whoever you're playing..let's say 8 bb/100 (realistically this is highly unlikely online, unless you're playing really weak players. Live it could be much higher, especially against drunks):

After 2500 hands, the probability of you being up is just under 60%.

10k hands, it's about ~65%.
20k, ~75%
30k, ~80%
50k, ~90%


So, you could be playing pretty bad players, with a big edge, and there's still like a 10% chance you'll be down after 50k hands.

Nanonoko has one of the sickest graphs I've ever seen. Over 5 million hands played; the variance practically evens out such that it's a completely flat linear line lol.

yeah that would be sick to run good all the time and not ever have a downswing lol. i'm now 80 to 4.2 btw. 10k is getting there. will be there sometime in april.

What stakes? 1/2?

@ 1/2, 23.72 essentially means you're running way, way way over EV right now. Every 100 hands you're up 24 big bets (so 48 bb, or 96$. At least, I think. It depends on the stat the site is using. Some use big bets, some use big blinds).

Your win rate will drop as you play more hands. Nobody runs over 6-7 bb/100 in 1/2 over 100k + hands. You're running like 4x+ expected.

I think I run like 4.5bb/100 @ 50nl, which is very good. I can play like 12 tables and sustain this. There are some people running 6+ @ 200 nl but most of them move up and are better than me, so :P

I mean, some people used to be able to run over 8 bb/100 in 1/2 nl, but the games have gotten a lot harder. These games used to be fishy, but they're pretty tough now.
