Well, I can think of it like that. My upswing was way more than 30 bi, so it's not like I've lost anything. It just sucks a lot.

lol someone should stake me for the main event. i'd love to play that. xD
    wouldn't we all ;p

I don't think anyone here has the roll to stake a 10k buy in though.

I like cash games more over tourneys now.
Donkaments are donkaments; there's some skill, but luck is a massive factor that is significantly more important than skill in many large field tourneys, meaning tourney variance is massive (you can win virtually nothing for long periods of time, or hit the jackpot relatively frequently).

This is largely because you can't rebuy, and the hand sample is very, very small to the point of being almost entirely meaningless. If someone busts you in a cash game you just reload and play more hands, or well, lose more :P

Given the hand sample, the only reason pros have any sort of edge at all in tourneys is because of the donks. You should definitely have lots of live experience spotting donks before entering a donkament, since the goal, particularly early on, is mostly just to small ball the idiots at your table (unless you get a horrendously bad draw :P )

god i love playing deep stack 1/2 3 handed for 6 hours. won and lost some big ones last night. middle set (plo) held against aces/nfd for ~$450. two late nights in a row so i cant really remember many hands from last night which is a shame.

yeah was pretty much joking, my uncle is a multimillionaire but we're not too close with him so he wouldn't spot me for the main event. i have it but it would be putting all my money in one tourney not a good move.

i can spot donks live it's pretty obvious after a few trips around the table who the donks, sharks, and nits are.

ya... 1/2 live clears things up reeeeeeeeal quick. the few times ive played 2/4 / 2/5 it was pretty apparent too. at the 1/2 games that got bumped up to 2/5 it was so obvious who was uncomfortable playng that high

You're comfortable playing 5/10? Do you have a like 30k + BR or are you just a baller? 8)

I'm bad for using a portion of my roll for income, so I only count a certain portion of my available roll as actual roll, and I use strict BRM, so you'll never catch me playing full buy in higher than 1/2. Might catch me playing 2/4 if I saw a bunch of drunk retards playing, but that's about it.

When I stop hating poker, I might try taking stabs at 1/2 online again with very strict stop loss, but aggressive scaling as well and see if I can move up to 2/4, 3/6 and 5/10++ on a heater. Last time I tried this I ran uber bad once I hit 2/4 and moved back down to 1/2 and eventually to 0.25/0.5, but it's probably worth a try again. If I actually make it to 10/20, I'll probably stop before going to 25/50. There's no way I'm profitable that high, and I'm not XWINKX, so :P (Nobody, other than maybe isildur, is going to run a NLHE heater to several million. Only in Omaha, and Omaha makes my blood boil so it's out of the question 8) ).

nah i'm not sitting on 30k lol i'm just confident in my game. i'd be cool sitting in with 1k at 5/10.

lump; youre a sick sick man... i know of one 5/5 (4 nights a week, one night 5/5 with 10 dollar winner straddle; straddle comes on sporadically if table wants it on other nights) and one 5/10 game in raleigh, and id definitely be comfortable sitting in the 5/5; it's 500 min 1k max and supposedly it gets real deep and it's real soft. the 5/10 however is another matter entirely. i'll play 1/2 any day but even if i had the money to do it id never sit a dime at 5/10 with my skill level. this is of course a lie because im a freaking junkie but im drunk enough to admit im not confident enough in my game yet 8) and slightly delirious, been awake since 8pm last night

EDIT2: i'm going to quit somewhere between 1000-1100 from one nights grinding from 80$ playing only 1/2 lol.

Poor Tom. Anyone see the durrrr challenge? Must be getting frustrating for Tom, because he's running about as bad as I have been lately lmao. Cates might be better than Tom, but it's pretty easy to win when the deck it stacked your way. Cates is definitely one of my favs, but I don't think I've ever seen him run bad. I'd really just like to see him set off the doom switch and completely tank this challenge into the other direction to make the second half more interesting.

(I mean, being realistic there's just no way jman is ever going to have a mathematical edge of more than 2-3bb/100 over tom. but he's running somewhere around 15 bb/100 right now. Talk about running hot much?)

The same goes for isildur vs daniel. Isildur outplayed daniel, but hit just about every card in the deck. Yikes.

Lumph; I'm confident too, but also understand variance lol

How's the action of bodog? Any softer than stars/tilt? I've never played there.

well if i went 80 to 1k in 1 sitting it's obviously soft. xD

Should we maybe switch who is running it? Plenty of people here are active enough to take over and keep tables/tourneys going. Someone message nois?

Lumph; just because you turned 80 into 1k doesn't necessarily mean it's soft.

Didn't watch vid but, if you bought in for 80 w/ just one table, you must have ran hot as hell.

Don't think I've ever turned that into that at just one table. Multitabling...yeah, but over like 10k hands (Rush poker).

                              let's see you turn 1k into over 10k :P

edit: bad luck streak is also over, finally. Ran very hot today. Coolered many people and won back a huge chunk of my massive loss in less than half the hands. Yay
