    The difficulty system will be messed up until someone actually starts to compare songs by which one the community of players finds harder. That is all.

      actually they use that (automatic) system because nobody has to bother with difficulties, not because it's perfectly accurate.

      either way it's ok unless difficulties are horribly off.

        it isnt perfectly accurate but the algorithm rubix came up with is good enough to be used

          Re: Ingame Song Information

          These been bothering me for a while.

          Im Sick of Uprock -> I'm Sick of Uprock

          [okay, unnecessary things removed.]

          EDIT: The concept of reworking the years-old genres is a good one, and I just noticed it came up in this thread a couple pages ago.

          So, my thoughts:
          Dance should become Pop. Thin it out, leaving things like Nina, Koisuru VOC@LOID, etc and move the pop rock over to it. Heck, if we can get permission from some of the huge labels, then add some newer stuff.
          Dance2 should become Electronic (blanket term for trance, house, etc), and what's not in Dance anymore should be added to it. It'll be a little overpopulated, especially after cleaning up Misc, but you can't have it all.
          Move Hip-Hop to the Funk spot and merge.
          Arcade is fine.
          Rock needs to have some of the pop cleaned out of it but otherwise it's fine.
          Classic should be Classical, but it's fine
          Separate Jazz from Misc, and clean out the electronic.
          Leave Secret as is.
          Get rid of the Purchased genre completely and just move the songs into their respective genres after they're bought.
          T/ST/L is fine.
          Finally, add a Japan genre (Foreign if you like.) Move the J-core, J-pop, and some of the stuff in Misc over to it.

          So, summarizing:

          Old --> New
          D --> E
          D2 --> A
          F --> P
          A --> H
          R --> R
          C --> C
          M --> M
          ? --> ?
          P --> T
          T --> S
          H --> L
          S --> J
          L

          Feel free to mess around with the order if you like.

            Re: Ingame Song Information

            Correct spelling and grammar of songs don't matter. The artist will spell words and type names however they want it to be written.

                Uprock should be changed.

                need [...] is a shortened song title for the sake of fitting the title on the game screen (original: Of course you Need and nEed and neEd and neeD and NEED me)

                  I know I'm being dickish about this, but getting rid of the spaces and adding a period would get rid of a character as well as fixing the grammar.

                    Im Sick of Uprock -> This is the original song name, so leaving this as it is.
                    Torinouta -> fixed for the consistency of Japanese songs
                    Of course you Need and .. NEED ME -> didn't know there's a grammar issue on this. fixed

                    And yeah I know we need to do something about genres, especially dance and misc are getting ridiculous.

                    ps also, can someone write current top xx things?

                        I'm on it, JX. Calculating all of the TPS counts for all of the FGOs, and I'll have them rearranged. None of the new 11s are going to pass FotBB, but I will check Of Course ... NEED, etc.

                        EDIT: looks like Sara ninja'd the first half that I had finished, but I'm about halfway done with the TPS counts

                              I don't know how Halogen is calculating taps/second, but I would like to do it like this: (30 * number of arrows) (last frame of arrows - first frame of arrows + 1). This way the number of empty frames before the first arrow doesn't matter. I think this would change up the counts a bit. Also we should definitely consider some of the higher FMOs for the list.

                                I'm going to go ahead and say that Reality's average TPS is incredibly deceiving, as the 77s figure takes into account the empty intro. Take off the 10 second radio announcement (or whatever) and you get 921 notes/67 seconds = 13.75 T/S, which is in line with most of the other FGOs listed. ERB has the same deal, but it's less noticeable because the intro takes up a lower percentage of the file's length. True, busting out a list like this is incredibly repetitive and draining--I know this from experience--but QQ does have a good point.
