I've learned in this past year that you really shouldn't care about people's sexual orientation, just let them be who they want to be, it's not like you can change their thinking.

I mean, the flu. It's not genetic. You still get sick from it. This is a biological occurence. Biology =/= genes. So saying "being gay isn't a choice" doesn't require genes, at all, even if you're looking for a biological cause. One of the leading theories is that gay people are exposed to abormally high levels of certain hormones prenatally. This has LITERALLY NOTHING to do with genes, yet is still a biological explanation in which homosexuality is not a choice. So stop with the false association, it's killing me.

If people really had a choice whether they wanted to be gay or not, I really think there would be very few to no homosexuals. I don't know a single person that did not struggle for years with the idea of having to come out not only to their family but to a society that judges and openly hates them. Gay people have to come out on a daily basis. Every time they meet a new person they have to grapple with the decision whether they want to come out to them, essentially they have to decide whether they want to be honest or if they want to hide which is basically what society tells them they should do.

Homosexuals are the most universally hated group because people can justify their prejudice with religion. Who would willingly enter a life of ostracism and potential physical danger?

Hmm If it's for religious reasons..Then yes...being gay is wrong to them..well..no, scratch that, DOING homosexuality acts is wrong. It's not the fact that BEING gay is the problem, just the acts of it to the religious people sadly

But personally, I don't see it as wrong. I think it's actually nice to see same-sex couples...i'm bi-sexual myself (But I usually go for Males...cause I get along with them better.)
