unless you're suckling off your parents' money (a luxury i never had, as my parents were both abusive dropouts), you should know that it costs a lot to get by nowadays, especially if you have a family.

no, you don't need an ivy to live a content, happy life. but it sure helps you get your foot in the door.

if you think school's a waste, you're pretty much damning yourself

It can help you gain positions of power and wealth but what it has to offer for our intellect is very little. That's all I meant.

and yet somehow i was able to find time for a girlfriend, a circle of friends, four majors, a high-paying, demanding job, and still have enough time left over for exploring the city and traveling

while also supping every single FFR score on this site

Yeah, and then leave homeless and jobless people working their asses off just to sustain their family.

The slums back in the Gilded Age were ridiculous - people cramped up in tenements, having the entire family working at factories just to have food.

Money is not something to boast about.

Rubix's Stats:
FFR Games Played: 11,843

Come on, we all know this statistic is faked. He has 150~ recorded plays for DP and RATO combined, that includes hours of playing each one over and over plus all of the improvements he ever made. I think it is pretty clear that his engine doesn't submit every game he plays (nowhere near).


Incidentally: you don't need anything like $160k/year to live comfortably, especially with a family. Maybe in NYC, sure, but you are gonna make more there to compensate for it anyway. In a less fancy place, $80k/yr or less can comfortably support a family.
