Yes, Brazil is the only Portuguese-speaking nation is this part of the continent, because it was the only country to be colonized by Portugal, back in the 14th century. /historyclass

Btw, it's kinda annoying when people say Brazilians speak Spanish, or are related to latins, like Mexicans. Well, I'm not being a prejudicing dick, but, you know, we have like nothing in common.
