Re: DJ Sharpnel v.s. t+pazolite
Lol, yeah, taking touhou tunes and putting a standard phat hardcore beat to it is definetely alot less generic. Not saying that I don't like it though.
And if you actually listened to t+pazolite's songs, you'd notice that when he doesn't use a touhou tune, he uses high pitched vocals as well.
Ofcourse there are exceptions, t+paz makes original tunes, but his arrangement to original ratio is about 10:1
Sharpnel makes more original material. Aside from the fact that they use japanese vocals in a bunch of their songs, they make their own melodies to the vocals alot of the time.
And songs with vocals in them hardly cover everything of their discography

T+Pazolite hands down

Then it's time for a new formula, because that sure doesn't sound like it spawned from an intelligent source.
Hell yeah xD, I love his polka **** rofl, but there's more than a few. There are a few songs where he tends to break away from that formula...like this one.
I love learning, I really don't know jack about most J-core artists, but at least I'm not ****ing stupid enough to just stick with the first J-core artist I hear of. It's good to learn the contrasts every once in a while... I listen to Sharpnel three hours on the bus three days a week, and sometimes I wonder if there's better, and now that I've aquired all the available DJ Sharpnel albums, I can work on other artists ;O Dude, I can't wait to get my 4 DJ Sharpnel CDs in the mail, and the t+pazolite CD, and the 3 Tano*C CDs, and the 2 Technorch CDs, and the other 4.
Little known fact: DJ Sharpnel isn't _.Spitfire._'s favorite artist :V~ 2nd Official FFR Gamewhore

Re: DJ Sharpnel v.s. t+pazolite
Good post.
Kind of funny how many people are taking this as some sort of personal attack or something against their interest in sharpnel and/or t+pazolite. If it makes you feel better pile on the blank insults and passive-aggressive bs, I mean it's all inconsequential just saying. Perhaps you'd like to bring actual arguments and stuff. The exchange rate of trolling in ffr to most other forums resembles currency from an African nation... perhaps I've brought too much srs into one thread already!
I also apologize for pooping up the thread further but what can I do !Last edited by masuat; 12-8-2009, 05:56 PM.Comment

Re: DJ Sharpnel v.s. t+pazolite
Oh?
Lol, I agree there are J-Core artists who produce better on a more consistent basis, but I love both the old school sound of Sharpnel as well as the new sound. It's just a matter of sorting through the trash for the good songs.
Most people only listen to songs like shihen, blue army, pants and strangeprogram etc. and immediately form the opinion that Sharpnel only makes sped up remakes of anime tunes. And while that's true for a part of their older works, they've also made alot of good songs, even with vocals.
Sped up vocal songs like the ones mentioned before would cover for about 25% of their discography.
Sharpnel also makes rave, frenchcore, speedcore, schranz, noise, drum 'n bass, hardstyle and even pop music (although it usually has a touch of j-core too it), but most of you probably never listened to those songs.
Another thing is, people tend to only know the old sharpnel songs, which in comparison to new j-core, like that of t+pazolite, sounds pretty lame.
But even though those songs range from the year 1998 to 2004, they still find those songs representative for Sharpnel and comparable to the newest songs out there?
It usually depends on the song itself, and what you enjoy yourself. I enjoy the old school j-core back when it just started and when they had little means to create them, but I enjoy the newer sounds, like t+pazolite and RoughSketch just as much.
Sharpnel is still on top for me though.Last edited by Nullifidian; 12-8-2009, 06:19 PM.

Ooo damn I still love RoughSketch. He manages to tie a very calm piano instrumental along with hardcore techno. Best part, FFR permission from me! Yay.
I said 5k. Don't listen to Phael, he's . . . . fail.Last edited by Ghakimx; 12-8-2009, 06:28 PM.Comment
