there may have been a man named hercules that did some heroic things, but anyone who believes he really did any of that crazy bs with the gods and stuff is crazy. in the same way, there was likely a man named jesus who did some preaching and stuff, but anyone who believes he's the son of god is crazy

but, it all boils down to what you are willing to accept as evidence. if ancient people who knew practically nothing of the world around them, believed disease was caused by demons, etc. claiming something happened is enough evidence for you to believe it, then of course you'd believe the bible. but if you have a slightly higher standard of evidence, say, one that doesn't accept the baseless claims of ancients, then of course the bible would seem silly to you.

my bad i guess, but i still think it makes sense to call the jesus of the bible a fictional character as long as you realize that he was probably based off a real one. like if i made a book about ghandi... but he had heat vision.
