posting for memories of when this was impossible for me. took me hundreds of tries to get it the first time. just got this on my first play through it today...

reminding yourself you're always improving is a good thing. despite how slowly it may be :/

and dont you dare fukking say practice. im overall rank 36 (about to pass darkshark's rank) and ive only been a member 1.13 years. i play often enough to where if practice was key i'd be AAA'ing FGO's by now.

seriously, can anyone pinpoint what it was as they progressed that made them "better"?

was it reading ability, finger control, stamina, speed, etc... what ONE thing influenced your development the MOST. i know all of the above are what make a good player... just looking for thoughts on what was most important for you.

lol, Zeroskill, just because you are overall rank 36 doesnt mean you are supposed to be good. Overall proves nothing but you play too much. The are beat players who dont even play that much. I know you said not to say practice, but that is all there really is to say. Based on what you said you would like, try playing nothing but FMO and FGO's for like a few days. Dont mash and try for combo, sit there and actually study the harder patterns and force yourself to try to hit them. Need to push yourself no matter what it takes. It will suck at first, but just try to play those difficulties and attempt to actually hit the notes.

Playing songs that I have virtually no chance to AAA helped increase my speed. I don't know really I just got good. It happened over time and before I knew it people were telling me I was borderline master/guru division and I was like what? Oh I guess I am now. I have never been a super insane master player but I have fmo AAA's and some really good scores.

some people are better than others at things, sometimes practice isn't enough sadly, but you never know don't give up try reading fmo's and fgo's, no mashing at all. FC doesn't matter, pa does.

don't listen to plan... i tried that for a month or so straight. No improvement. when to SM and got worse at FFR.

Thats cuz you suck in general and nothing seems to work for you. Your skill has a mind of its own, one day it will be awesome, then it will suck, then you try something, it gets worse, then it comes back again better.

No, and i never said that i should be good because of overall rank... i simply said that to show that i DO practice. because yeah, overall rank is just based off the accumulative score of every game of FFR you have ever played. meaning there are 35 people on Earth who have "practiced" on FFR more than I have...

I think you meant go for PA. combo helps the ranks, yeah, but combo comes naturally as your PA gets better...

i do that. i knew everything you told me, and i've tried countless ways to switch up my game on FFR. swapped scroll directions, different speed mods, different key set ups. nothing works =/.

and SM is gay because i can't figure out how to turn off the F11 or F12 key functions. its REALLY fukking annoying while im playing, and then suddenly i hit one of those and a big ass menu pops up on the right side of the screen. so, unless someone can tell me how to turn that off/swap it for different keys, i dont like SM. i hit those keys somehow with every key set up thats comfortable for me, and some that aren't.

yeah, speed is going up for me... very slowly. is it wierd that when i stop playing for a week and come back i PA the fukk out of stream i could barely read before i stopped? only problem is, my stamina is gone, and by the time i get my stamina back the sh!ts hard as fukk to read again. wtf.

to get better you need to play stepmania and practice on hard songs like disregard !_!

i get better at FFR when i go to SM. i think mainly because i play on C750 and when i come back to FFR 2x looks all slow and it feels like im playing songs in slow motion. that effect lasts for about 15 minutes, and i get really frustrated because as easy as the patterns are to read, my fingers refuse to respond quick enough. infuriating to be able to actually read it, but not hit it :/

play index brian that will make u jack better *_^ because index is about wrist control more than finger control in my opinion.
or wrip off those keys that make u fukk everything up and then throw emm back on or just get a spair keyboard and rip them off

i haven't played index since 2 months after i started playing. i cant do it any more, it requires reading the arrows in a totally different way @_@

True. Index is good for wrist jack. Than wrist jack help you to be better at speed. For exemple, if you're pretty good at 150 BPM jack (16th) you'll be able to play something like 300 BPM. Because ,in fact, a fast stream like disregard is all about your jack skillz. Just a trills become a jack. Its insane. So you're better be good at wrist jack. So the best way to become good is to push your limit always higher. When you'll play thing easier you'll be like..oh shiit cool.
