It never ceases to amaze me how sexually repressed our country is. Fortunately the archaic ideals of sex are on their way out.

I do think we should accept other cultures to some extent, but there's a limit - if someone else's culture directly goes against our laws, I don't think we we need to respect that. People do not (and should not) get free passes to break the law just because they are from other cultures. I think that if someone lives in a country which is not built around their culture, it is their responsibility to research that country's laws, rather than the responsibility of everyone in that country to research and fully understand the person's culture. There are simply too many cultures to be expected to understand and respect every one.

That said... whether the kids are naked or not, breastfeeding is a completely natural thing, and believing that exposing children to any kind of nudity is serious abuse is just ridiculous - not to mention that it makes actual sexual abuse seem less harmful because it is called by the same name. (I'm not at all fond of the sex laws for children and teenagers in the US, seeing as they seem to be founded on puritan sensibilities and knee-jerk reactions.) It makes no sense for the legal system to tell someone "you are being abused" when they have no problem with what's going on, or to tell someone else "you are an abuser" and sentence them to them years in prison when they intended no harm (and did not know their actions could possibly be harmful). This reminds me of the case where a 15-year-old girl took nude pictures of herself and was subsequently charged with sexual abuse (of herself).

Being in photography classes for three years, it becomes a habit for me to thoroughly look at every picture I develop. Not because I snoop around or anything of the sort, but to make sure I developed the pictures correctly (checking for proper exposure time, making sure there's very few or no scratches, those kinds of things).

Thats why photographers in the porn industry love their job.

I dont know man. I think this report is dumb too. Millions of crimes and dollars goes into stopping crime in America and they go after bull**** crime's like this? It makes me happy that after I graduate collage from Arizona that Im going to be forever living in Taiwan instead of the states. If this is the kind of stupidity that happens with my money and in the states, I want no part of it.

But honestly, culture or not, breastfeeding is one thing and I accept that, but to take pictures and to show them publicly. Thats another thing to me. I dont care if you breastfeed but you should also have the brains to not take pictures and show them publicly to people and not expect to draw attention about it. Culture or not. That may be ignorance talking, but really, have common sense and understand that you are not in Peru but in the Stats and things are different here culture or not.

Still though, this is stupid and I hope future generations of the police force are smarter than the people that arrested these people.

the whole concept of privacy is absurd itslef, but i'll pass on that. the main idea is that you keep your nudity away from other people's eyes because that would awake their sexual desires. however, this only happens for a mature or semi-mature individual. if you see the penis of a little child, or the vagina of a little girl there's nothing really you can see. they're more like stubs of the actual genitals they're going to become.

now, i'm going to tell you another thing to think at. there is an intimate, tight relation between repression and perversion. if you even repress child nudity, what you are actually doing is sending a message of "forbidden" which effectively does imply a more significant incidence of pedophilia.
