Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
Don't believe this whatsoever. Your grip is probably ridiculously wrong.
To start, open your hand and place the stick between your index and thumb. This alone should be enough of a fulcrum to be able to throw the stick down and back up. Next, close your hand such that there's a gap between your thumb and index, and your other three fingers are not grasping the stick, but helping to push and control the rebound.
You should never have to pull the stick back when you do a stroke. Rebound should do all of that for you. If you aren't getting any rebound, experiment until you do - RB drums have plenty of rebound.Comment

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
I'm pretty sure the fact that I have 38ish gold stars - inculding 2 impossibles - in rock band 1 proves that I know how to play them.
And if you didn't read, I even said I hold the sticks that exact way.Last edited by EnR; 10-26-2008, 08:36 AM.sigpicComment

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
No, that means that you know how to get high scores in the game. For example, If I can get a 100% on vocals, does that mean that I'm a good singer?
Holding the stick with the right grip is only one part of the equation. If you don't know how to control a hit, you'll still **** it up. For example, if you're BREAKING THE HEAD, that means you're FOLLOWING THROUGH on your hits or GENERALLY HITTING TOO HARD.And if you didn't read, I even said I hold the sticks that exact way.
And when you say "My drums don't have any rebound at all," it only serves to proves that you're doing it wrong. All surfaces have a rebound (thank you very much, Newton), and the material the RB heads are made from have generally good rebound. You most certainly are doing it wrong. See if you can find any friends in real life who play drums and get them to tell you what to do differently.

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
I REALLY want to get the mp3 for Rock Band version of Brainpower, and with Rock Band 2, it's possible to retrieve it.
Is anyone willing to get a clean version of the song? All you have to do tun off the sound from the crowd (in audio options), turn on "No Fail mode", play as vocals, play Brainpower, lie back and relax and let the song play. Record the song while you are at it too.
Anyone willing to do it?Comment

Not me.
But I <3 Silversun Pickups."A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor
My new novel:

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
oh man, I just got Young Man Blues for RB2.
I've only played it 4 times offline, but according to the scores I should be ranked 7th overall. 229,000 or something. I'll post scores later.
If anyone's up for playing, my gamertag is Prospect0. I'd obviously prefer drums, but I can do expert guitar as well.Last edited by Cyanite; 11-2-2008, 08:08 PM.
