no never did the putnam, but it's pretty hardcore. in all honesty it'd probably grill me in the long run -- you have to literally live and breathe math to compete against the kind of people who compete in it seriously. i'm still able to do a lot of the crap they shell out in the aime/amc/usamo, but meh.
btw what's so funny about that paragraph? there's nothing really all that hilarious there -- it's just a list of people.

the sick thing is is that you can take a crapload of ap's, get 5's on them, and get out of a lot of requirements in many colleges -- even Ivies. That's one thing I was a little bitter about as an IB student because even though it's harder, you get less bang for it, so you wind up shelling out a ton of money for AP's to avoid the incremental costs later on in terms of wasted classesComment
