Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
It's all in how you look at it.
I see it faster. You see it slower. You played Melee for like 5,000+ hours. I played it just enough to get 290 trophies.
Since I play with items, it's those items that make the game feel faster. It's slow as hell when there aren't any items because all you're doing is punching each other.
If you hate Brawl so much, go back to your Melee. You seem to love it so goddamn much.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Running speed was only one of my examples. Don't quote only one of my examples and try to make me look like an idiot. Because that in return only makes you look like one. l2awr is right on the dot in terms of how this game is slower. The video's i posted only back up what he said that much more. What is wrong with you people.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! It's not how you look at it. It's f****** common sense. If a game is faster it's faster. If it's slower it's slower. It has nothing to do with items or any of that. With or without items the game is just OBVIOUSLY slower than melee. It doesn't matter if you played 5,000 hours of melee or two minutes. The difference is marginal and obvious to those who have any sort of common sense. Get a grip dude.Last edited by korny; 03-27-2008, 12:49 PM.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Do you play with items?
Do you?
I do. I always have. I always will.
With more items and the expansion of some of the previous items, the gameplay is more hectic. The more hectic it is, the faster-paced the game is.
In Melee, I used to sit on one side of the stage waiting for enemies to come to me. In Brawl, if I sit still, I die. I'm always moving. More hectic. Faster-paced.
I don't care if you think everything's slower. I think everything's faster.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
So items speed up falling, running and movement all together? No, no and no. Are there projectiles without items turned on? Ya. Do those projectiles make the game faster? NoDo you play with items?

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Who the hell ****ing cares if you run slightly faster or fall slightly slower?!
THE GAME GOES BY FASTER.
Here's my measure of how fast the gameplay is. In Melee, I pressed like four buttons every minute. In Brawl, I press like 300.
FASTER.
It's not just having items that makes the gameplay more hectic. It's the culmination of all of those items and not knowing what's coming next.Comment

So how YOU play personally means the game is faster? Oh boy...in GENERAL the game is slower. Not in your smash world.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
You're just being ignorant now. When you say faster paced, you're really just saying that you're having to move more and all over the place to avoid the constant barrage of all the items being used. This constant moving you're having to do, while may be more than what you have to do in melee, is indeed SLOWER MOVEMENTS than it would be in melee. You're character, having to dodge all of these new items with their "hecticness" and all, is moving slower than he would if he were in melee. The game is slower. More hectic sure. But not faster. Everything about the game's physics is slower. You're putting hectic and speed in the same category, a category in which they do not belong together.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Ok. Yes, they nerfed the speed of the characters. Does that mean the game is slower?
You're pulling a logical fallacy.
All birds can fly. Penguins are birds. Penguins can fly.
Right?
hec·tic (hĕk'tĭk) pronunciation

1. Characterized by intense activity
Intense activity? That surely means nothing is going on at all!
The more things happening, the faster-paced the game is.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
My video's should've stopped this argument in its tracks i seriously don't get why it's still continuing. Any semi-intelligent person would've admitted to the truths of what i've said after watching them.
A 4 live stock match on final destination in melee takes 3 minutes, 4 minutes tops. 5 if it's really really intense and that's rare. 4 live stock in this game almost ALWAYS take more than 6 minutes. Items or not this game is slower. I've said all that i've needed to say. I'm done trying to convince an idiot of something so obvious that he fails to see, because his own perception of this game is so warped that two videos comparing speed difference wasn't enough for him.Last edited by korny; 03-27-2008, 01:11 PM.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
If he isn't talking about the length of the game, then I have no idea what he's talking about, and neither does he lol.
If he is talking about the length of the game then his argument would make sense. A bunch of unbalanced items taking away a ****load of percentages, not to mention final smashes, would end with faster ENDING games. Not a faster MOVEMENT game. Thats OBVIOUS. If thats not his argument then he needs some help.Comment
