That wasn't really an argument. And I knew about that a month ago.

It still makes no goddamn sense to me to use a non-playable peripheral as a playable character in a game, but whatever. Sakurai likes nostalgia rather than correctness.

ROB played a major part in Multiplayer. And besides, what's so "correct" about it? Nintendo usually only uses characters from it's first and second party games in the Super Smash Bros games, and a few third party ones as well. ROB was created by Nintendo, thus he is technically a "character" in it's own right, and a first party one at that. So there was no reason not to include him. Not only is he so freaking adorable , I have an original, working ROB. I'm personally very happy that they included him.

Oh god, not this **** again.

Anyway, am I the only one that didn't have much trouble at all transitioning to Brawl? Maybe it's because of all the videos I watched, but the game felt very comfortable to me from the get-go, and it didn't seem like there were any old habits I fell into. Everything felt just as I thought it would; there wasn't much of an uncomfortable transition period at all.

Anyone else feel like the whole "omg brawl is so weird takes forever to get used to" thing was really exaggerated?

It was pretty easy for me to transfer over to Brawl, but I'm still in love with Melee. I'm too in love with the physics engine and everything about that game. Perhaps Brawl will be that way for me over time, but I still don't know anything about Brawl. I just know it's annoying trying to Knee with Falcon. I still go to l-cancel every move. =\ It's pretty easy to get going, but I can't stand the restricted movement compared to Melee. So much has been taken away. I'm hoping we'll start finding some really useful techniques soon.

ROB isn't a character. It's a peripheral that only worked for two ****ty-ass games. The NES library had HUNDREDS of games. I don't see how a peripheral as retarded and useless as ROB gets to be good enough to be considered a better option than Megaman or Bomberman or hundreds of better candidates.

Sakurai just plays on nostalgia. There's no other explanation for why Game and Watch was a character in Melee.

Just beat classic on hardest difficulty level. Had to use 1 continue. I'm sure if I got a good run I could get by with only dying once or twice, but meh, point is that it's not as hard as it could be. Then again, difficulty beyond this would require bull**** stuff like "oops u get hit once you lose lol" which is ****ing annoying as hell.

Well, Pikachu and Jigglypuff aren't in Super Smash Bros. because of their source video game (ie Pokemon Red/Blue). They're in it because of the anime (Pikachu is a lead character, and back when SSB was being developed, Jigglypuff was a running gag on the show). If anything, I would go as far as to say that the first TRUE Pokemon GAME character in SSB is Pokemon Trainer in Brawl. All of the other ones are heavily influenced by the anime, or flat out only in there because of the anime, even Lucario in Brawl.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that Nintendo will use Nintendo property regardless of if it comes from a game. And heck, take a look at the SNES bazooka weapon. What game is that from? Oh right, it's a PERIPHERAL FOR THE SNES that "only worked for [11] ****ty-ass games", and I assure you that you haven't heard of most of the games either. I don't see how you could be surprised that they would do this. A bit surprising for ROB since he was pretty ****ty and never all that popular, but it's not something outside the realm of possible (obviously, hindsight is 20/20 but still you know what I mean).

ps just had an idea along the same vein of ****ty peripherals... MASTER HAND WITH POWER GLOVE LOL o wai power glove is an american invention isnt it

After playing some hours of Brawl, I notice something about Marth's Brawl.

Her Final Smash is a one-hit KO, right? Every time I play as her against others, I use it, and it's actually not that useful to use since while she sets herself up, they other player has enough time to just jump over her attack. It's really annoying.


Anyways, I want to know, how do you play? (Control Style).

I use the Gamecube controller.

Well I use gamecube controller as well ddr_fan, and I have had no issue at all using Marth's final smash, I hit usually every time.
