Either he was lying about the original wolf to begin with, lying about all the other wolves, or he really do have the list.
If he have the list of wolves, I doubt he is planning to kill them off. If he doesn't have the list of wolves, then he is just a liar about this whole thing and just trying to get off the hook.

Btw this is what i have so far:
Almost everyone started off with a vigi item. The name of the vigi item is random. If they didn't receive an item, their role is very important/strong.
Everyone that is not a wolf/human has their own specific role. Whether it is to kill a certain person, or to be the last man alive, it's their own goals.
There are only 3 wolves left. The original number wolves is not defined but it can be assumed to be 4.
