I didn't say all people aren't. I said people in general. Behind the veil of anonymous people can be whatever they want. Some that wouldn't say an evil word to you will threaten you kill you and eat your dog when they are on the internet.
I haven't played sports since I was around 15 and playing in a backyard. And back when I was playing in the backyard noone ever called me a jerk for catching the damn thing.
In life, SOME people will help you if you're not doing well and will compliment you when you are doing well.
Remember. My comment was directed after the apparent insulting of:
"A good community would be one that understands there will be varying people of different skill levels. The un-avoidable truth.
But on Halo 3:
If you own.. "Oh, you have no life"
If you suck.."Lol, what a noob"
It gets really old, really fast."
Besides. You have a team in competative sports. Do they tell you that you suck nooblet when you drop a ball? Or do they say, don't worry man. You'll get it next time.Comment

Re: X-box 360
If I was playing on a team full of strangers and I SUCKED at what I was playing, then yes my team mates who are winners would get pissed. Even when I play ball with friends and they are doing horrible I get mad at them and visa versa. They usually don't get mad at me because I'm better than them. When I go to a court in a different neighborhood and I get kids that are better than me and I play poorly, then they will get mad and talk trash. You haven't ever played in gym or team sports and had people talk trash to you? In school there was talk trash almost everyday in gym or team sports. Its LIFE. As an adult there will be less dicks because people are more mature, but xbox live doesn't consist of mostly mature adults OBVIOUSLY. And on xbox live you can mute people in team games anyways.I didn't say all people aren't. I said people in general. Behind the veil of anonymous people can be whatever they want. Some that wouldn't say an evil word to you will threaten you kill you and eat your dog when they are on the internet.

Re: X-box 360
Oh so let's all throw slander at each other because you do it all the time.
That makes sense.
Throw slander in a professional sport and you will not be playing a game for a while. Throw slander in a public team sport and you'll be thrown out of the game. It doesn't matter what level of professionalism you play a sport in; you just don't do it. Ever.
In online frag-fests, slander is thrown immediately regardless of whether you really are doing terrible or not. If you die, prepare to face ridicule. Who cares that you got ten kills before you died for the first time? You died! That means you suck! Observe as I represent your suckiness with this physical motion of crouching repeatedly above your face!Last edited by Squeek; 12-31-2007, 01:00 AM.Comment

Who said it is okay? Quote it because I don't recall saying it was okay. I'm pretty sure I said GET OVER IT and then someone said life doesn't contain that and I said YES IT DOES. Where did you see "TRASH TALK IS OKAY!!!111"?

"Slander" is thrown in professional soccer all the time. France vs Italy World cup. Thats just 1 example to prove that wrong.
Anyways, Xbox live is not professional. So don't compare it. Also I said competitive, not professional.

Considering immature little kids or teenagers make up most of the people on halo, it should be expected. Thats what the MUTE option is for. And if "tea bagging" offends you then LOL @ YOULast edited by l2awr; 12-31-2007, 02:34 AM.Comment

Re: X-box 360
...
ignorance much?
1) "Get over it" pretty much interprets as "I think it's OK to do it"
2) I didn't say "nobody throws insults around". I said that you're not supposed to. There are rules in place. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the parties involved in that match received punishments, did they not?
3) Again, read. I said even unprofessional competition has regulations to prevent insults among competitors.
4) Not having played Halo for more than an hour, I don't know what the online experience is truly like. I couldn't stand the boring gameplay in single player and I hate online multi player, so it was a win/win for me to switch to a better game.
5) Teabagging is a non-verbal insult. It also falls into the category of punishable offenses in competitive events. A fist pump in the direction of the opposite sideline is an offense more severe than almost any other penalty in a sporting event.
Why did every professional and non-professional sporting organization prohibit verbal and non-verbal insults? Because it's rude and unnecessary. It has no place in society. Whether you know the person you're talking to or not makes no difference.Comment

Re: X-box 360
Sounds like somebody's mommy didn't teach him how to be a good sport. =(So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

"Get over it" means...GET OVER IT. That won't be the only place and last time you hear trash talking.1) "Get over it" pretty much interprets as "I think it's OK to do it"
You know what means "I think its OK to do it"? I THINK ITS OK TO DO IT.
2) I didn't say "nobody throws insults around". I said that you're not supposed to. There are rules in place.YOU JUST DON'T DO IT. EVER.
Everything seems to have different meanings to you huh
Zidane got a red card for head butting the Italian. Not for trash talking. The Italian recieved a world cup and a medal. So no they didn't get punished for trash talking.Correct me if I'm wrong, but the parties involved in that match received punishments, did they not?
In a league? Maybe. Enforced? Not really. The most you would get if a ref heard you would be "Cut that out". I played club soccer all my life/all year round and there was trash talk and dirty stuff every game. You don't sound like your much of an athlete, so you wouldn't really know, now would you?3) Again, read. I said even unprofessional competition has regulations to prevent insults among competitors.
Also not ALL competition is in a league. I can go up to my basketball court and hear trash talk all the time. Guess what? They are competing and they are playing to win.
COD4 has trash talk and tea bagging too and COD4 is AMAZING4) Not having played Halo for more than an hour, I don't know what the online experience is truly like. I couldn't stand the boring gameplay in single player and I hate online multi player, so it was a win/win for me to switch to a better game.
So don't be a moron and do it at an official competition. X-box life is not an official competition, so your argument is pretty weak. I don't "tea bag" myself because I think crouching on someone is pretty retarded. It's a good strategy for competition though because it obviously gets some of your opponents upset which alters their gameplay. It doesn't bother me personally, but its funny when someone gets mad over it.5) Teabagging is a non-verbal insult. It also falls into the category of punishable offenses in competitive events. "It has no place in society" Ya, but its in our society whether you like it or not, so "GET OVER IT".
Instead of arguing with me over what you THOUGHT I MEANT by "Get over it" you should have been like "Yes l2awr is right, there IS slander in our society and in everyday life", which is what I stated after that other kid said there WAS NOT. Competitive sports was just ONE example. If you did that then you would not have wasted yours and my time.Comment
