After playing for a while with the Combat side of it (read as trying out -everything-) I really like the combat. Sure it's easy, but that doesn't make it necessarily bad. It's just simple as hell.
The fighting breaks down into attacking, counter attacking, and some dodging for those of you that like to dodge and combo attack instead of just countering the damn thing. The enemy will guard break the hell out of you if you stay in guard too long, but then all you have to do is run around to gain your health back. Personally, I would have made it so that you couldn't gain your health back unless you had at least broken the line of sight (explosed, but not seen). Would have made combat a bit harder. At least then you wouldn't be able to run in circles until your health got back up.
If you're in for a counter style of gameplay, while in 'fight mode', use the hidden knife. While using the hidden knife, you can't block any attacks.. but your counter attacks are instant kills. In addition to this, if you see an enemy cowering, or taunting, release off the block and attack to assassinate them. It's actually my favorite way of fighting in this game. But then again, I really hated having my guard get broken and I don't have to worry about that in this style.
I'd suggest not buying it, but renting it. And it's by no means a system seller.
That doesn't mean that it's bad, oh hell no. I just value replayability as a chief factor among games. If you're spending $60 on something, you're going to want to play it a hell of a long time. Assassin's Creed just doesn't have much replayability. Unless finding flags is replayability.
Also: They leave room for a second and possibly a third. Making a game a triliogy is so in this millenia.
There is nothin to say bout the game other then.......GAME OF THE YEAR!!
Except everything else that has been said about it in this thread.

Wrong. Assassin's Creed deserves the praise that it gets, and I would love the game if I didn't get attacked every twenty seconds for walking across kingdoms. And blending to get across the land takes too damn long. The amount of secrecy required put me off of the game entirely.
Know how much secrecy I need to get through the kingdom?
Non. Natta. Zero.
Because I found something out. if I do run into a few guys that want me dead. All I have to do is sprint or ride my horse away. I can get away.
I run damnit. Just like any Assassin whose compromised would.
I can even ride into the next village and the meter will go back to anonymous. Hell. I could just ride/sprint until I found a bale of hay, kill the guys following me, hide in it for all of 10 seconds, then get out and walk around again.

The text below is how most of my time in the game is spent, usually between kingdoms.
______________________________________________________
-Guards spotted. Time to blend.
(Two weeks and a full-grown beard later)
-I evade the guards. At this point I proceed to sprint like hell. Two seconds in...
-Another patrol. Oh no, I didn't blend in time. I'd better run or fight.
-Repeat.
-And repeat.
-And repeat again.
-Do this again, two days and x number of missions later.
-Put away Assassin's Creed and find any other games that my brother bought while he was at University of Texas at Dallas.

Oh, no. I didn't mean it in a negative manner. That guy just came across as a tool, and disregarded everything else that had been said UIH.

I think it's safe to say they went overboard when they called it "Assasin's" creed. Why is it more people attempt to kill you than you kill other people?
The whole "blending" system reallllly bugs me. I don't like the game anymore lol.

Because an assassination is the killing of an individual, not a genocide. And once you kill that one person, his/her supporters obviously begin to hate you.

That reminds me of the old Ninja Gaiden thing. Now can he be a ninja if he's not stealthy?

It's also a way of life, etc etc.
Plus, stars. He has the stars.
