                            but if average rank is the best, then that means 100% of everyone who cares about rank plays 100% of all songs as soon as they come out. you miss one song, your average can go from 1.00 to 50.00. that's a lot to ask for with the mass of songs released these days.

                                I hate avg rank. I haven't played like half of the songs on this account. It would be a waste of my time, in my opinion, to go play all of those songs that don't interest me.

                                    Honestly though, people are going to argue "Meh I don't want to whore," but then we risk making the list too small and/or too difficult for people to gain any points.

                                    It's hard to numerically gauge the skill of lazy players who are talented at the game. That is where the system falls apart -- we have to make the list large enough so that we can get a decent picture given that all songs have been played. But it is that assumption that also breaks the system because not everyone plays all these songs.

                                    The other issue is that if we were to make the list smaller, we risk excluding songs that may be good gauges. Say we didn't include new songs like Southern Cross, but someone manages to AAA it, but receives no tier points for it. This is obviously flawed.

                                    So really, we have to ask ourselves where to draw the line.

                                    In my opinion, I think the tier system is fine, in general. However, other games and sports don't always gauge skill by how well people fry the smaller fishes. Some people dominate the larger game and are obviously capable of dominating the lesser areas.

                                    Therefore, I recommend that we split the tier system up into multiple counts. This way, for example, you could have the totals list like you do now (for statistics sake), but also have it divided up into the 4/5/6/7/8/9 groups. So, for example, the 8-Point Tier List would be a list of only 8-point songs. This allows people who are lazy but skilled to show that they are talented by only choosing the higher tiers to play, but also allows people of lesser skill to better see their progress in lesser tiers that they play. I haven't explained this well because it is late, but I feel like splitting up the list is a good way to both capture skill and help guard against the song-whoring issue. The general tier-rank would be derived from a weighted average of the tiers completed such that it is reasonable. Someone who ONLY tackles an 8-Point Tier List but does it well should have a higher status than someone who manages to clear out a few lower tiers. As a result, this would allow people who clear higher tiers to receive more relative points, but also rewards people for clearing more songs (only this time it has a lessened effect compared to how it is now, where a few easy songs will effortlessly overtake an 8 or 9-point song that wasn't achieved).

                                        And that's a fine argument for while they're releasing songs for this game. But one day, amazing as this concept is, they're going to stop releasing songs for this version of the game. Or at least, that's what I got from all this 3rd style bs. If there is one day going to be a finite number, then one day it can be assumed that everyone who actually cares about playing this game will play all of its levels. Plus, the same can be said about the Tier System, in a way. You miss a song that's released and worth 8 Tier Points, you go down. Not as many of those released, but you still have to keep up with the game to be considered a top player. I don't think it's fair if somebody comes along, plays a hell of a lot for one month (and gets good), and then walks away, and then expects to come back when he / she wants and still be considered one of the top players.

                                        Honestly, I don't get the reason of even having this system. It says less than what average rank says. Yeah you can argue that it's easy to button mash the FMOs / FGOs and AAA the easy levels and hit Average rank 100, but honestly, who cares, that means that the people who are Average rank 80 or 50 or 10 are the obvious TRUE pros, because no button masher is ever going to get there.

                                        Average rank is your score compared to everybody else's score in the world. What better comparison do you need.....

                                        Then don't. But there's something to be said for the people that play through all the songs, no matter how much they don't want to. And personally, playing a number of the FGO songs doesn't interest me. Do I get to get away with saying I shouldn't have to play those?

                                        Guys, the Tier Point system counts every song in this anyway. It's not like you can say "well I don't like easy songs so I'll just play hard ones" because of the AAA bonus points. That's basically saying you have to play every song. This seems like average rank to me, but in a different way of counting it - pretty pointless.

                                            Button mashers CANNOT get a decent points on tier system.
                                            If you can mash FC Silence or EHHS, you won't get points for them.

                                            Basically you have to get good scores of all HARD songs in the game.
                                            Just being good at only a few songs doesn't mean the total skill of this game.

                                            But yea like some people say, the borderline of "Hard songs" should be raised nowadays, since the MAX score of this system will be over 1000 points next update and some songs are way too easy for judgement of the skill of TOP Players.

                                            For lazy-skilled people?
                                            Pick your TOP 10 songs with highest points and add them up.
                                            It would be some indication of skill, maybe we aren't doing anything for it though.
