Edit: I also liked people whoring the song up to more than just making above the cut line, rather to get the highest rank possible. I thought thats what made this tourney great, but maybe its just me ?

Well yes, I agree. The matchup idea is very cool competition-wise, but in all fairness, it screws people over before they should be screwed over (lol).

I mean, if I'm a decent player and I stand a chance at getting top 8 or so, but all of a sudden, I'm seeded against the #1 player, then I can get knocked out and place only 17th.

Sure a person can whore a song and get much better than what they usually can get, but there's a line that you just can't pass simply by whoring. Seed #1 can get a AAA first try while Seed #16 gets the AAA after 500 tries. Then the tiebreaker comes and Seed #1 can still get a BF while Seed #16 can whore all he wants and might not even FC.

I understand it's too late to change that now ... but perhaps next round (or next tournament, I suppose).
