Can anyone explain how the 5 boos points would be calculated for each song providing I have # of arrows in each song to work with.

-100 to the cutoff value.

I only want to switch the Tier requirements to use the more accuracy-based scoring system that is already programmed into the game.

The problem with this is that it creates two different sets of goals, since the highscores would be calculated one way, and the tierpoints in another. You'd have a lot of situations where people would be rank 50 or worse on the highscores for a song but have more tierpoints than someone in the top 10 because of the difference in systems. That would really suck IMO, and it's utterly unnecessary. Also, the system doesn't currently record your highest raw score, only your highest total score, so it'd have to be programmed in seperately. The current system isn't that bad anyway since most of the time FC's aren't very hard to get in the first place, besides on the tougher stuff.

Also, the "score" system is pretty terrible as well--it's not as bad as the combo scoring system, but it's still pretty awful, considering a miss will lose you less than what 2 perfs give you.

Lol but a miss is fewer points off than 1 great gives you in SM, since a miss isn't any points off. What I think is inaccurate about score is this: I consider a perfect to be like a standard, and everything else to be points off of that. So, a good is like -25, an average is -45, and a miss is -60. This means the difference between a good and an average is smaller than the difference between a good and a perfect, and the difference between an average and a miss is even smaller than that. So 3-0-0-0 would be a worse score than 0-0-1-2 by this "score."

Er... Does 'Full Combo' mean no boos too? I thought it only applied to misses, but the tier point system says I haven't FCed a few things- Like CIA Rave- When I have, just with a few boos. Neh?

It's based on total. It doesn't really matter much how many boos you get, as long as you get few enough goods and averages to meet the req. I guess boos are a small number of points off, too, but you need some PA to meet the reqs, even if you FC.

you can actually NOT FC and meet an FC req. I meet the Piano Etude FC req with my nonFC hehehehehehe

Yeah I had the same thing on TGWP part 2 for a while, and I think I did it on one or two others songs as well.

I finally FCd FF3 for the first time and I guess I got 25 goods or less?

I guess I have decent PA, I just suck at keeping combos.

I was just looking through all the rules and such and i see the word "alright." It's actually spelled "all right." Just thought i'd let ya know.

USAGE NOTE Despite the appearance of the form alright in works of such well-known writers as Langston Hughes and James Joyce, the single word spelling has never been accepted as standard. This is peculiar, since similar fusions such as already and altogether have never raised any objections. The difference may lie in the fact that already and altogether became single words back in the Middle Ages, whereas alright has only been around for a little more than a century and was called out by language critics as a misspelling. Consequently, one who uses alright, especially in formal writing, runs the risk that readers may view it as an error or as the willful breaking of convention.

I think that's about as unimportant an error as you can possibly point out, hahaha
