Ok, I'm going to explain to you why Dragonforce sucks:

1.) They're power metal. This genre is saturated with bad guitarists, singers that sound like they just got a pin stuck into their ass, and stories about dragons flying through purple mist during an epic Lord of the Rings battle.

2.) The skill of the musicians in the band is deplorable. I once stumbled upon Herman Li and the other guy's "I Bet You Can't Do This" video on youtube. I watched it. Someone who had been playing guitar for 2 years with discipline could play the stuff they pulled off. Herman did an A minor arpeggio with an extra hammer-on. This could be achieved with a few hours of practice. The other guy did some tapping lick that I could have probably played a year into my guitar playing. Not to mention the crazy ending where he just taps the open sting above the neck pickup. INSANE!

3.) The singer sounds like he just swallowed a handful of razors. The singing style in power metal is horrible. I would rather listen to someone pig squeal over a repeating guitar riff that is nothing more than the two lowest strings played open. It may be the defining characteristic of this "genre", but if you had any musical taste, you'd see the faults in it.

Go... read some literature to children.

Yeah but see Dragonforce sucks, and why would showing you a "good" hardcore/screamo band make you think Dragonforce is not the best band for FFR when Dragonforce is neither?

PS Venetian Snares is more hardcore than anything mentioned here.

I'll be willing to overlook that little slip-up (more liek slip-knot mirite?lawl) because of this. SOUL. OWNAGE. That would kick so much freaking ass if we could get Venetian Snares on here, that Canuck is a crazy one. Hardcore IDM/drill 'n' bass/bust-your-brains-open FTW^3.

You forgot to mention that Children of Bodom is power metal with growling vocals. Also, I just love how you're all ****ing generalising a whole genre with one ****ty example of sellout dickheads.

Power metal has the best singers on this planet. I'm thinking about Hansi Kürsch, Fabio Lione, Timo Kotipelto, Micheal Kiske, etc. Those guys have practiced for years and years to acheive something absolutely incredible. I agree there are some incredibly ****ty singers, like the dickhead from Dragonforce or that big noob from Hammerfall, but saying "the singing style in power metal is horrible" is incredibly ignorant and is a horrible generalisation. There are as much bad singers as there are bad growlers (yes, I'm talking about you, Alexi).
