I'm not trying to say that you, or anyone else here makes bad art, not at all, I like alot of what you guys do, it's just that you all use the same characters, the same filters, same effects, I'm just saying there isn't a whole lot of difference in style between each of your works.
You can look at a van gogh painting, or amy brown, and KNOW who made it, while I look at each of your sigs, and theres no individuality to them, add your own flair to them, make them your own.Comment

I think what darkshark is saying mainly is that many people have great talent but you waste it following the guidelines that other people set in that you used played out styles. Creativity is something that should be something that is new and not been done many times before.
I just took a couple classes on photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, 3D max, and Adobe Premiere. Honestly i like to actually modify pictures and make them look better. I will post some of the stuff i have done tomorrow when i get all of it off my flash drive.
However, what darkshark should realize is that many people do things with a set outcome in mind. Making a sig for instance, they want a sig that reflects what they like with effects they think look good. With this in mind its easy to see how they follow the style of many other sig makers, they see what they like and in a way they copy the style but in such a way that they make it their own. Bringing in a whole bunch of ideas still takes a lot of creativity and effort, just not as much as you may be used to =P

For someone who says she's involved in the 'art industry' (Whatever that ****ing is), I've yet to see one piece from you that I've actually liked. Now you're either just being pretentious or full of yourself (Wait, that means the same thing), your anal retentative mannerisms are quite annoying. It's this thread's fault and it's fault alone that it is so broad.
Make a new thread that says "Post your Photoshop (Only) Work here! (No Signatures or Stepmania BG/BNs Please," and maybe people will post something worth more your while.

You really have to fiddle around with a lot of things. First you need to line them up perfectly with each other (if you notice the 2nd and 3rd picture, the boardwalk thing is going at different angles because of the fault in the photographer). Then you need to get the colors and brightness of the pics to match up identically (probably one of the hardest parts considering they were taken at different times of the day). Then you smooth out the picture breaks with the clone stamp and the patch tool. Touch it up to make it look better and then crop it so its a symmetrical size.
EDIT: I did this a while ago when i wasnt very good at the clone stamp and i just noticed how crappy the clouds in the 4th pic looks because of it =PLast edited by slipstrike0159; 05-23-2007, 04:25 PM.
